Q u o t e:
Alright, let's go ahead and talk semantics.

But let's put things into context. How many people do these servers serve?

As a company, do you put out consistently earlier times when the previous "estimations" were off by as long as 2 hours?

Is that what they teach in MBA these days? Why haven't we been updated after one hour past the estimated time?

Admit it. We've been forgotten as gamers on a legacy title.

What he said.

Q u o t e:

We've not been forgotten, with all the hate and discontent that is being stirred up on the D3 forums about how D2 is superior, they can't have forgotten us, they just don't care. My issue is that they made an effort to notify us of the first extension and thus set the expectation that if there was to be another extension, we would be notified. This is what I feel is the real issue. At least give us an update, that way I can go back to lurking in the D3 forums (god knows I don't want to play anymore of that game....).

No, you've got my intention exactly right.

I won't go and pretend to speak for everyone else. But I've been sitting here watching TV and hopelessly clicking on 'Connect to Battle.Net' on D2.

I want an update that will make me stop clicking.

WTF Bashiok, add update at start of thread, instead of at end of thread, where everybody looks for it.

I think the largest problem that's frustrating many gamers is the fact that this maintenance is in regards to Warcraft 3, whereas we are wanting to play Diablo 2. Battle.net is great, but one major flaw is that we are sharing the same server as Warcraft 3 players. hence, when something goes wrong for D2, W3 has to be shut down, effecting more people than it should and vice versa. Is there going to be an attempt in the future to have servers dedicated to one game or are we going to continue to have issues regarding servers down for both parties when this could have been fixed with less interruption for both parties?

Obviously something isn't going as panned. it's not their fault, they are trying to get it back up and running, however these things take time. And most likely he doesn't get paid to post. Chill bros.

Sorry? Blizzard Poster is not paid to keep us updated? Is he a computer engineer? A gaming company does not have a PR rep dedicated to keeping the community updated?

I suppose by 7 PDT it's time to believe it's true.

Yes because by paying 20-40 dollars you are not entitled to a personal updater to let you know what is happening 24/7. lets all be grateful that they even care enough to let us know what is going on at all. :)

How many users paid for Diablo 2? A lot. How many of those still play (that is, of the net sales, how many users do they actually still have to support)? Not a lot. Are D2 PR reps only getting paid via D2 sales? No.

Let's use the organ we have upstairs for a second.

The answer is they aren't doing their job right. That's the end of that story.

Yes well as an expert you would know better than me. I dd not mean to undermine the serious need of constant computer simulation that the new generation now requires to function.

Good day to you sir.

Just to let everyone know there was not any notice about the server down time. You want to know why? The date was yesterday that it showed not the 11th. How are regular people supposed to know that the maintenance was supposed to be today in actuality instead of yesterday with the mistake? They just changed it when a friend of mine posted about it and someone started to argue saying to research which at the time was the wrong date and time.

Thank you Bash for clearing everything up and hopefully people will get over it and just wait next time instead of "bashing" the other players of the game. I appreciate your effort here on these forums with some of the people you have to put up with.

Oh you are mistaken.

I paid for this game as a form of entertainment much like you paid for that internet connection of yours as a source of entertainment (I'm not going to go into all the forms of entertainment you derive from your connection as I'm pretty sure I'll violate 2-3 terms of uses). How would you feel if your ISP said your internet would be gone for 5 hours, extended to 7 hours, and without notice extended that to 9.

I do most of my work online as a web designer part-time and a full-time researcher in the health-care industry. I'm no expert in business management, what I derive regarding this hierarchy of management is purely common sense. I work 9-5 PM, I'd like my entertainment to be available when I paid for it. You would be silly to argue against the logic behind that.

Mind you, you are browsing the D2 forums in a rather timely manner for an individual whose time is not at all spent in this simulated environment.

It's no longer day.

Good night to you sir.
