So around 10 days ago i was really frustrated with a ladder game on Northrend and cursed at the other player (he was really really cheese and it got on my nerves). Today i decide to log in and i got "unable to connect to battle net". Obviously cursing at the other guy has made northrend unusable. Its fine on other servers though. how long can this ban be? could it be a perma one? it is my first ban.
thanks

There is no system in place to impose a restriction automatically if you curse. In the rare circumstance where a Battle.net admin were to witness such behavior, most likely they would have given you a warning and should the behavior continue, then and only then would a restriction be considered, the length of which would be at the admin's discretion with 2 weeks being the maximum. More likely though would have been a 30 day muting of the key being used.
In your case, I can see the IP you've used to post is currently restricted from connecting to Battle.net on our European realm. It's going to last another 10 1/2 days. I can't see the exact cause behind the restriction though.
thanks for the answer. i guess im content with it, since its not a perma restriction. im trying to think of why my IP could've been restricted and only this cursing comes to mind (when the cursing occurred this was my first log in in several days). but anyways, 10 days off time will help me with the exams.
