Q u o t e: ROC has a horrid lack of dispels and anti-air.
I remember how back in 2003 some loud orc players complained a ton about having trouble with these things. another similar "problem" was lack of low tier healing. when I look at FT I look at the approach blizz took in "upgrading" war3 and this is a good example. racial weaknesses & strengths weren't embraced as something that adds to depth in gameplay. no, everyone needed to have everything. solving problems indirectly or by making better maps was completely off the table. when kids wanted to have everything for their favourite race, they got everything. orc got salve, healing wave, bat riders ( scourge copy ) and disenchant. and to make orc units less fragile against focus firing ranged units from other races, they got spirit link... and as the icing on the cake, none of the new units were orc. I see the additions as tasteless.
from my point of view it's all just blizz pandering to idiots and trying to sell new titles with gimmicky additions. luckily for FT, the shops and taverns changed the gameplay some amount, which I see as FT's saving grace - and a total accident by blizzard. along with the armor changes etc the games are very different overall, to the point that even though I dislike a lot of features in FT, I'll settle with calling it just different, not worse.
Its true that in RoC creeping is more important than in TFT, BUT in TFT people creep as much as in RoC. That bull*%!# that "omg roc creep imba mass more than here" its totally false.
Towers is a part of the game in RoC, u have to make them or play agaisnt them, and they require SKILL.
Creeping is more effective in RoC because you don't take experience penalties, and you can creep past level 6. In tft, since it's less effective it actually becomes viable to interact with the other players early in the game.
Same thing with towers, since they're not as broken, you're allowed to use other tactics in tft without gimping yourself.
