  • 0. CD key in use by myself - need assistance   05/29/2012 03:04:51 PM PDT
Appearently my cd key is in use by myself, at first i was kinda mad because I thought someone else were using the key.

then i recognised the account name and this whole feeling of inception started.

How can I be logged in so many months after? Have I been time traveling? Frozen in time?

This only affects the Europe realm, where appearently phrenologist120 is using both my cd keys.

which doesn't make any sense whatsoever to me.

This is from a new location, new computer

so please don't suggest reseting router or restarting computer. OR WAITING!

thanks in advance.

Noeurope,

Someone else is using the same cd-key as you. Unfortunately, we have no way to know which of you actually owns the original. As you're connecting from Europe, you'll want to contact the European distributor nearest you for a key replacement. Each distributor sets their own policies for this.

but these are my keys, registered to my blizzard store account.

Could you please rephrase that? Who do I contact? Im fairly certain I have never shared my keys.

also I doubt someone else is on using my keys, because I never have given them to anyone. My guess is that somehow my login from months ago is still in.

This is mighty confusing, I thought my keys were safe with blizzard store.

This just means that he's logged off, you'll run into the same problem if he logs back on when you're not online.

I noticed the same problem is now there, but now with another guy.

BRAHMIN889603

how is this even possible? I haven't touched my keys for a few months and i've had them for 5 years.......

I don't know why, but it'd allmost seem as if there were a bunch of spambots using my keys.

i'd rather have the keys banned if that's the case.

I must have had a keylogger or something some years back or something....

Once upon a time, before Blizzard became what they are today, if your key was stolen you could send them a written letter, with the manual of your game, along with proof of the key, usually your CD case, and a $10 USD payment, and they would mail out a new key to you.

Sad to say, Blizzard has ignored how easy it is to generate keys and get legit real ones. If I am not mistaken, if you have an older style key, and you input it on the Blizzard Store, they generate a new longer key from that one for use with the digital copy. You could try using the digital copy and the longer key, if they did change the key after you entered it.

But that's the thing, im using digital key from the blizzard store

which is why none of this makes sense to me, i've had this set of keys for 5 years, 4 years have they been registered to the blizzard store service....

Yet my claims on the keys being mine are blatantly ignored

i've been using my keys on and off for the past 5 years, and it's the first time i'm experiencing any difficulties like this.

it seems to me that when cd-keys are registered with real names&emails, you should be able to connect whoever registered it, and you could confirm through them that someone who is using the key, shouldn't. you'd know whom it belongs to, and you'd know whom you can ip ban. OR you could just ban the cd-key and give a new one to the guy whom it belonged to.

I don't know how much trouble it is to ban an IP or to ban a cd-key, but contacting the real owner seems to be rather easy, especially because they're the ones coming to you.
