I got back to my dorms from break and found that I was banned from east. Pretty annoying, but after seeing this forum I just decided to wait it out and play on west some. A few days later, I'm banned from west. I dont hack, spam, or anything illegal, so I assumed it must have been someone else here. I wait the two weeks out, but I'm STILL banned. This is very infuriating, and I'm wondering if I'm permabanned. May I ask an admin to check this out for me?

C4ust1c ,

The IP address you're posting from was recently used to violate the Battle.net Terms of Use Agreement - http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml. The most common cause for this is connecting to Battle.net with an invalid CD-Key, but it can also be due to spamming the chat channels, use of flood or load bots, harassing another user, and/or the use of a third party program(s).

The IP address has warranted a lengthy restriction and will not be able to access Battle.net (USEast and USWest) for another 9 days. Unfortunately, we're unable to see the specific cause for the restriction.

Is it possible to see the keys used when the ban was issued? If so, were they my keys (if you can see them)? I'm just wondering if I was banned for no reason, as it seems that everybody else in these threads claim they were.

It wouldn't help as if a key was illegitimate, it would never get on far enough to be recorded on the account where I can see it was used. The keys are checked by the servers earlier on in the process of logging in.

5 days ago you, or someone sharing your IP, violated the ToU, with few exceptions this is due to attempting to connect with an illegal CD-key. It doesn't matter what other people say in other threads, because a lot of people will deny guilt.

You don't get IP banned for no reason, is basically what I am saying.

Best of luck to you.

Well, if he's at some dorms, then it's very possible that someone else did this while he was away =). After all, at dorms, you share the same IP address, no? : P

As I said in my post, it can be him or someone sharing the same IP address as him, so if he does share an IP with someone who did this then he's out of luck unless he can find a way to separate the IP. The system applies the restriction automatically and can't be removed.
