a while ago my friend bought 2 copies of d2+ lod . he gave me one and is useing the other one himself.. after i installed it i played once or twice then i was unable to connect to battle not only europe all of them, then after 1-2 weeks it worked again i played a little maybe a day or two then i was unable to connect again this time only from Europe.. what the hell?? help me fix this for god sake , this is very bad publicity for blizzard and not a good way to get old gamers to come back...

If you can only not connect to one realm than it is for sure an IP ban though, and if it lasts longer than 12 hours, it's an extended IP restriction, and lasts exactly 2 weeks. With very few exceptions, this is caused by use of an illegal CD-key.

All you can do is wait it out. And I would suggest trying a different key after it ends, so you don't get restricted a 3rd time ...

but thats the weird part i know its not an illegal cd key cause i was with him at the mall when he bought it and the second thing is i has been like this for a week or two then this morning i was off school i decided to if europe worked where my main char is and it did i played for a few hours and when i came home again this evening i wanted to play and again unable to connect to battle.net it cant be right its must be some bug because im not use maphack or anything its an orignal games both d2+lod and the only thing i can thing of is that my friend told me i could get a ip banned for joined and exiting games because of bots and i have played some dia / baal runs but not that many that i think that could be the reason ? it dont make any sense i am not a spammer or anything and this has lasted for a long time .. this cant be right ...

Not much I can say. Like I said, if you can only not connect to some realms, it is 100% sure an IP ban.

There are two kinds, temporary and extended. If you can't connect over 12 hours, then it is for sure a 2 week extended IP restriction. SOMETHING caused it, it's not a bug. Since you couldn't connect for 2 weeks before, and you tried again after those 2 weeks were up, and now suddenly you can't connect again, it's almost certainly a bad CD-key that you tried to re-use.

All you can do is wait it out... a Tech support blue will probably stop by sometime tomorrow to tell you exactly how much longer is left on your ban.

how can a new cd key bought within the last two months be bad ? im calling blizzard and the store tommorow, im guessing that you cant see the reason for the ip ban or do something about even if it was a mistake or a bug. I cant be right that we pay money for something that doesent work .. i played this game for many years when i was younger and never got banned always followed i the TOA and now i come back i get ip banned... but the only thing i can say it gives bad publicity for blizzard in the gamer world and i hope they fix it when i call tommorow

I wish you luck, although I'm pretty certain an IP ban can't be reversed. Regardless, I'd love to hear the results of the phone call. I would try calling Tech support though, Customer Service is usually for billing issues and don't deal with IP restrictions.
