  • 0. Expand Ladder Content to Non-Ladder   09/24/2011 06:40:31 PM PDT
Blizzard, now that the reset is coming soon, once again I and the rest of the legit players who love this game as it is meant to be played implore you to do the right thing and expand ladder content to non-ladder.

Simple mathematics proves that a six month ladder is too short to find any of the high-end ladder-only items or high runes to make any of the majority of ladder-only runewords, given the current drop rates. Sure, I might get extremely lucky and find two Bers in six months of extensive play WITHOUT BOTTING OR PAYING FOR IT, but that is not the way to bet.

Drop rates as they currently stand mean that your policy of resetting the ladder every six months, and consequently rendering the ladder-only items unavailable to high level legit ladder characters, punishes those of us who play a lot of hours of D2 as non-cheating human players. I have to ask -- why would you punish legit players and reward botters and third party seller sites?

The "race to the top" in ladder is a joke. Everyone knows it. 9/10ths of the lvl 99ers are bots. That leaves ladder-only items as the primary draw for playing ladder. But it takes weeks to build up a character to farm those items. By the time the typical legit player has put in six months of play, he's just beginning to taste success at acquiring some really nice ladder-only stuff....

AND THEN YOU PULL THE RUG FROM UNDER HIM!

Don't listen to these jspers who already have everything they need. Some of us, because of our devotion to playing honestly, still have only middle class wealth by D2 standards. We are the players who suffer the most when you reset, and our hard-earned chars are, for all practical purposes, deleted overnight. Made entirely useless.

I don't care about a supposed "clean" economy. There is no such thing anymore, at least not for legit players. You can reset ladder all you want as long as you make ladder content available on non-ladder so that the thousands of legit players may continue happily playing the game and working towards collecting those elite items with our developed characters, without having to worry that all our hard work will be erased with a stupidly unfair reset.

What is the point of differentiating ladder and non-ladder then?

Q u o t e:

One has a fresh economy, the other does not.

It needs to be like D3 where there is no ladder at all, but I'd prefer non-ladder content the same as ladder if it was my only choice.

I literally am not playing online simply because of ladder resets. Lengthening them doesn't help either, I'd rather just not have them at all. Just find a way to fix the economy

And the point of that is what? To feel good about yourself when you get a Ber after a reset? The "economy" is ruined weeks after a reset anyways, if not days, thanks to duping and botting.

The runewords are not intented for everyone. The droprates are so low because it's like the most awesome/ultimate thing to find. It's not for everyone.

Not everyone should have infinity or enigma for example... It should be for the lucky few.

Now with all the bots/dupes everyone has them. The game is broken.

Now almost everyone has infinity, while the intention was that maybe only a few people would be so lucky to get 2 ber's in 1 season.

another advice: Don't do baalruns. Baalruns are a waste of your time. They are only good for experience.

When people reach act5hell, all they do is baalruns. this is the worst method to get high runes. I leveled my bowazon on hardcore to lvl 92, and I haven't done a single baalrun.

It's not going to ever happen so don't #!@!n ask. Furthermore, post something that's contructive or don't post at all.

I would rather want them to include more end game content and get rid of characters expiration.

I was one of those that wanted ladder content to non-ladder but found that trying to make runewords before the ladder reset was more fun than to have it all when I want it.

That also won't ever happen, useless post once again. This is ridiculous.

If you're going to ask for something that isn't ever going to happen, at least ask for something cool, like the addition of act 6, 7, and 8 or a graphic engine upgrade to Dx11.

A post saying another post is useless is pretty much useless too.

Anyway D2 as a game is perfect as it is. It has bugs and get repetitive but then wich game don't. It fill my boredom nicely.

Having exceedingly low drop rates for godly items makes sense and makes the game more enjoyable. Giving a time-limit within the life of your character in order to find these items, however, does not.

Q u o t e:
Not everyone should have infinity or enigma for example... It should be for the lucky few.
Why?

Q u o t e:
Now almost everyone has infinity,
Everyone? Really?

Q u o t e:
while the intention was that maybe only a few people would be so lucky to get 2 ber's in 1 season.
Do you consider this a noble intention? Besides, what's the point of getting these items the day before your character is delet- er.. um.. has their ladder status expire?

Q u o t e:

Except Baal runs make perfect sense for what the ladder is supposedly for. The leader board only shows your level, it doesn't tell anyone what ladder only gear you were able to obtain. People who like the ladder for it's intended purpose of competition would still consider their characters expired at the end of the season ladder only items or not. The rest of us still have to live with a clock over our heads.

If it's not ever going to happen then Blizzard has cost themselves one potential customer of Diablo 3. And I do consider posting on a topic that is a concern to many players to be constructive.

If Blizzard makes this change you can still impose limitations on yourself and delete your character if you don't find what your looking for fast enough. Just don't try and ruin it for the rest of us.
