I have been getting a message when im at home on my laptop wireless when logging on to d2 unable to connect to realm requested. you maybe exp connections issues, please make sure port 6112 is open. i opened port, I have deleted d2 completely off my computer and reinstalled. i reset my router, deleted bnetcache, turned off my virus protection firewall. This also happens on my desktop computer.. i have full
access to us west, asia, europe with no problems.. just us east i cannot access.. it is not restriction because i have not been on us east in 2 weeks.. i went into run prog regedit, and deleted battle net as reuested by battlenet on hkey_local and current.. again th only happens when im at home on hughesnet satellite internet.
hope someone can help

If you can only not connect to one realm, then it is indeed an IP restriction.

There are two kinds:

1.) Temporary - Lasts up to 12 hours, usually caused by performing too many in-game actions in D2 (such as repeatedly leaving/entering games).

2.) Extended - Lasts exactly 2 weeks, with very few exceptions, this is caused by trying to connect with an illegal CD-key (from a keygen, torrent, 3rd party website, etc.)

If you can not connect for longer than 12 hours, then you have the extended IP ban.

It has been almost 4 months, idk if its an ip ban or not.. I can get on d2 on road in my 18 wheeler, and other places.. How can an ip ban lat 4 months.. Its on 2 seperate computers.. i can access d2 on wireless in other places in united states.. what is keygen, torrent and 3d party websites. idk what they are..

That is because your IP is different in other places. when at home, you only have one IP in your network.

If you can only not connect to one realm, then it is for sure an IP ban.

An extended IP ban lasts exactly 2 weeks maximum, more than likely you installed + attempted to connect with an invalid CD-key when you came back to the game, which caused it.

Well let's do a confirmation just to be certain then:

Download the Diagnostic Tool created by Win32, below:

Extract the files and then execute the program inside.

type this:
"connect useast.battle.net" without the quotation marks.

Now, post the contents of Log.txt in a reply to this thread

Use the drop-down menu and pick USeast and try to connect through it, post the full log

For the beta client:

http://www.win32.lordaeron.org/pub/BnetDiagTool_BETA.zip

In the top menu, go to Diagnostics --> Connection --> USeast

It will print out a log, let it fully finish then copy + paste it all to here.

If you still can not connect to USEast only, then it is indeed a 2 week IP ban, all you can do is wait it out

Allenwade01,

Darkness is correct, if this is only affecting a single realm then you are likely temporarily restricted from that realm for some kind of TOU violation.
http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml

I've looked at the multiple IP addresses you've been posting with and don't see the restriction. I'm assuming these are the same as the IP at home. If you could post from that connection then I could check that IP.
