Completely remove temporary suspensions please.

1) they are only hitting legit players, not bots.
2) about 90% of public games are colorful bot-created advertisements to item buying sites
3) 9% of the other public hell games are created by mf bots
4) I'm already waiting in line to create games anyways
5) When I do join a public game, 5 spam bots join instantly, fill the screen with advertisements, and then drop out of the game causing it to become "full bugged" and real players cannot join.

WTF Blizzard? If you're not going to do anything about this crap, at least remove your bull#!%! Temp IP bans etc that only hurt legit players and do nothing to keep this mass of bots off your garbage servers that you refuse to upgrade. I'm not going to buy D3 unless some serious changes are made.

Got proof?

9 out of 10 games are bot ads? Not!

Q u o t e:

.09 of 1 game is a magic find game?

Q u o t e:
4) I'm already waiting in line to create games anyways

What's that have to do with game play?

Q u o t e:

Never heard this before.

I'd rather have something in between. Wow for example has the threshold set high on instances/server, but once you hit that threshold you can't create new instances, just join existing ones. You're also capped to 5 instances per hour per character. I'd like to see something similar.

Late night, they really are. Of course you have a lot less players on, but at some point, yes, it is.

Q u o t e:
.09 of 1 game is a magic find game?

I think he meant the 9% of all games.

Q u o t e:
What's that have to do with game play?

Waiting in line to make a game? Nothing. Except sitting around doing nothing while you wait, when you could be in a trade game sitting around doing nothing while you wait. Though, I never have an issue with waiting to create a game. Sure, I'm usually in line when I hit "create", but my game still pops up instantly.

Q u o t e:
Never heard this before.

It happens. Not a ton, but it does. I think because so many bots are trying to get in your game at once, it glitches the game. And unfortunately, waiting around doesn't fix it. once all the bots settle it's still "full"

Q u o t e:
Cry.

Maybe. I mean, D3 has nothing to do with the current stay of D2. But this, the millionth thread made on this same subject, are legit complaints that go ignored. So, maybe you're sick of seeing them, but that really doesn't give you a reason to be a jerk about it.

It happens more than you realize. Almost without fail, when I get online and I notice a friend is already playing in a game, if he thinks there is space (i.e. there were spambots in the game earlier that were never replaced by real players), I get a "game is full" notice. Then we grumble about how there are only 3-5 real people in the game and yet I cannot join.

I do not know why this happens. Maybe it is due to the way most spambots, even if you squelch them, are not registered as actually being online, and BNet sends you some message about dealing with accounts directly.

It'd be nice if someone would explain why BNet claims the spambots aren't online at the exact moment you squelch them in-game via the party screen. That is just weird, and it might shed light on the "full bug" as well.

It's pronounced "See-Pee-Slow" :-P

Got proof that you have even a single friend? Because that seems highly unlikely you pathetic forum troll.

Q u o t e:
9 out of 10 games are bot ads? Not!

If you ever got to hell difficulty then yes, you would realize that about 9/10 of the games are created by BOTs and are nothing more than advertisements to item selling sites.

I don't know what your deal is, but you obviously don't actually play this game. Maybe you work for an item selling website because you lack any real-world talent. Either way you're just a pathetic forum troll with no friends. Get out.

I agree whole-heartedly. I have seen nothing to indicate that any actual bots are being targetted by the IP lockout... undoubtedly all are programmed with the correct timing to avoid it.

So the only people getting locked out are people trying to mule their items or people logging in and out of mules to find specific items, or people who try to rejoin chat channels too fast.

I wonder how much money Blizz will lose operating servers when the only people still playing are all bots trying to sell crap to eachother.

Spam bots get locked out all the time. Some even disapear for days.

if you are getting temp bans all the time, then you need to change the way you play. If you're going be joining a game every 1-2 minutes you're going to get banned. End of story and b i t c h i n g about it will not help at all.

Trippy, this is my second attempt at posting this. The first one ended up in another thread! :D

So what you're saying is that you play this game completely solo?

You've never:
Muled anything
Done Baal runs for xp
Traded for anything (any items you've ever received via trade are almost certainly a product of either botting or the "bot-style" gameplay you criticize)?

Okay, I believe that...

Would you be okay with it if they temp-banned everyone who joined more than 1 game per hour, or would you just tell them to quit *%#%@ing and change the way they play?

Furthermore, why come to the forums just to insult people who want to play the game and want the game to continue improving? The only reason you could possibly have to oppose this idea would be if you honestly, honestly, believed that the current system is working as intended and preventing a majority of the botting out there.

I hope you're not that naive.

Q u o t e:

THESE BANS ARE NOT MEANT TO STOP BAAL OR SPAM BOTS, THEY NEVER WERE.

Then our resident troll's point is moot:

Q u o t e:

Agree with the troll, or Bob?

If that's the case then, literally nothing has been done to stop the current wave of bots. Still seems a iittle (a ton) neglected.

Ven never said the ban didn't work on spam or baal bots.

Every ladder I finish with about 50-60 active mules, I have an account just for gems and runes.
I do public baal runs all the time and I am an in game trading maniac.

Usually the only time I get temp ban is when I am looking for something specific on a mule to make a trade and I enter and exit the game too fast too often.

When I do get banned I always come to this forum and cry about how blizzard has destroyed my life.

what amazes me is that this game was/is interesting enough for people to want to play it, even when they can't play it (bots).
other rpg's are referred to as "diablo clones" whenever mentioned in the press.
i've said it before, and i'll say it again..."TRANSCENDENT"!
yet all these problems go unaddressed.
D3 looking "shrek-ish".
covert blizz troll must hate life, knowing he/she has to tear down this game (defend shortcomings) to make way for the dumbed down gaming future.

pray for open source.

Q u o t e:
I'm going to say this for the billionth time: the system is working splendidly. The kinds of bots it was actually designed to stop (pindlebots and DC hunters, not spam and baal bots) went extinct almost instantly. We have been saying this on these forums for years, and for some reason nobody listens. THESE BANS ARE NOT MEANT TO STOP BAAL OR SPAM BOTS, THEY NEVER WERE.

Got proof?

Even if that is the case, we can still criticize Blizzard for failing to address the problem. Who the @##* cares about stopping pindlebots? I'd rather they stop spam bots since those are the major issue.

Edit:
Here comes the obligatory "WHARRGARBL" reply about how pindlebots tax the servers and create lines from the same person who just bragged about running 50+ pindle runs an hour.

Q u o t e:
Solution: temp bans.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Better solution: "You must wait 15 (or whatever X) seconds before joining another game" when attempting to create/join games too quickly.

Bam. Problem solved and no legit players get banned.

That's true and I wonder why they didn't do that instead. Create a "cooldown" of sorts like they do for these forums.

On another note: why bother killing Pindlebots? Better yet, why make a Pindlebot? I get much, MUCH better results from real bosses.
