you really are a loser... I have heard many excuses.... Blah blah, im casual, blah blah, its my money, blah blah, I dont wanna farm, im lazy!

Bottom line, if you buy items, you are supporting terrorism. These item sellers plague every MMORPG, every online game.... From items, to cheats, to powerleveling, to currency......... You spend a penny on this and you are supporting a cause destined to ruin gaming. Destined to ruin the very essence of gaming. COMPETITION! By buying items, not only are you cheating the competition, you are showing the gaming world how much of a coward you are.

Also if you spend a penny on any Activision or Actiblizz game.

I can imagine if back when we had a NES they had online ranking and resets every 6 months. This guy would be playing the first Super Mario Brothers! And you only got a title if you beat bowser before the end of ladder! This guy would say "WELL IF RESETS WERE 1 YEAR I COULD BEAT IT!" The answer is WRONG.... You will still buy the "IWIN" package from some company who hires slaves to farm items so you can "WIN"....

You buy items, you support the scum of the earth, PERIOD. Almost like buying a diamond, but the fact is, in gaming, there is 2 sides of bad. One is the slave factory and the other is that you ruin the competition by BUYING your progression. Which also makes no sense since the game is about farming items.

Shrug buying items dont hurt me at all..

My games are all password protected i get zero spam no bots nothing, dont visit the chat room.. zip

I just want to be able to play all the content solo, with my son, or with friends i know.

Soon as bliz makes it so i can do all this without having to commit to a certain time frame.. then i wont have to.

So at least this way i get a chance to either get my runes to make all my high end rune combos or ladder only items .. and when it goes to Non ladder i will have them

If you are playing solo/just with your son. I would highly recommend TCP/IP games. That way you can play single player (You can farm easier in single player). You can use the /players command.... You can also download a mod called plugy which allows you to have a shared stash between characters.

Another idea would be to download a MOD and play TCP/IP with your son. If you want to feel powerful, some of these mods are very very fun. EASTERN SUN mod is very easy to get into. Feels like original Diablo 2, but with new abilities, 10000+ more items, new runewords, new levels, uber bosses. I think that would be more fun.... Normal diablo 2 is a grind... Especially for a casual player... The drop rate is so low, you never feel like you get anywhere. Give Eastern Sun a try... You might be completely suprised.

This is, in essence, exactly why we are fighting for full content on non-ladder. You shouldn't feel like you have to buy items just to keep up with the botters and JSP kids competing on the ladder. Everyone should have LEGITIMATE access to all features of the game, no matter how frequently they play. Blizzard's silence only tells me that they support these item sites and are banking off the profits.

You're dumb. Who the %*&@ cares about "keep[ing] up with the botters and JSP kids." This game was never meant to be competitive.

Sure, they tacked the word "Ladder" onto part of the game and started tracking XP and who got to max XP first, but you can't honestly tell me after playing this game for more than 20 minutes that ANYthing about this game was ever intended to be competitive.

I just want to be able to access the full content of the game without getting screwed by time limitations. That's all.

STFU all of you about bots and selling items and all that crap, you're de-legitimizing the actual argument for expanding NL content.

Spam and bots shouldn't affect your gameplay at all, just password your games silly.

And don't blame the people who buy the items, blame Blizzard for not finding a solution in 15 years.

And if i want to play public ?
Just for the fun to meet new people and make some friends ?
Will i have to care about spam everytime i make a new unpassword game ?
Don expect other to take actions for you .. Just do your job (dont support this people) and you will see that they will give up ...
The first action should start from us ... not blizzard.

Blizz didn't do anything against cheating, boting, map hacking, spaming etc. for years. Last time i was joking around with some friends... when i sayed "probably blizz is running the shops" suddenly they all were quiet... after a few seconds there was a "possible".
I guess we're not alone with this opinion.

Blizz... i think you're image drops.

I hate to compare it to something so grandiose and important, but what you're saying is akin to blaming consumers for the recent housing market collapse rather than blaming the predatory lenders or the government that failed to properly regulate lending in this country.

Blaming the consumers of any "undesirable" goods, whether it be drugs or alcohol or bad loans or botted D2 items, is historically ineffective. It's just not how the world works. You're better off either going directly after the sellers or by going after the people in charge who should be regulating it (in this case, Blizzard.)

Yeah, totally! Spam and bots don't affect your gameplay at all - just play passworded games!

Are you freaking kidding me? You're saying rampant spambot harassment is OK because we can just give up public multiplayer games and play alone in a passworded one? How is this any different from TCP/IP or Single player? Stupidest thing I've ever read, congratulations.

Lucky for me I wrote a script that automatically squelches / blocks the initial message packet for key phrases (I feel sorry for the rest of you who have a full screen of text advertising high runes and duped items every 5 seconds).

I must agreed with you in someways...
I will say here a "movie setence":

"Sometimes to kill the addiction you have to kill the addicted"

The meaning is, stop buying and they stop seelling.
But in someways you are right, i dont totaly disagree with you.
Nice to have people who exposed their ideas clearly

I'm sorry that you feel that your right to live spam-free is being violated in D2.

Welcome to 2011, I hope you don't have a mailbox or a cellphone or the internet or a television or you're in for a rude spam-full awakening.

Learn to read, mr "I support spam bots and item selling sites". I don't receive spam over D2, I wrote a script to block the pages and pages of spam messages in public D2 realm games. I have a mailbox and a cellphone, no spam there either thanks.

Internet and Television advertising is completely different. The advertisers are paying for their ad-space, it is controlled, legitimate, and does not necessarily degrade the service they are advertising over.

Diablo II spam is a different story. They don't pay anyone for anything. They STEAL cdkeys and accounts from players and use their accounts to actively harass the player base, indiscriminately joining/rejoining every public game and spamming entire screens of text which makes the game unplayable for anyone without an 'n' key. They get their STOLEN CDKeys / Accounts banned, so the actual user is even more hosed.

But that's OK, you can keep arguing in the defense of these people. I just have no respect for you or your life, and wish cancer on you. Good day.
