Well, there are those who don't mind actually playing the damn game, and if a bunch of JSP kids can have 6-month resets simply by complaining, I can't see why doing the same is wrong. Besides, how much of a game wrecker would removing the "ladder only" tags for content be?

Bumping this because it deserves to be bumped.

Really, this request is so reasonable, it's almost silly that it's a matter of debate at all.

If people clamored for this like they clamored for polls and resets, then I'm sure it would be done. Even though no one has seriously argued the point of this request, it clearly lacks the same level of demand. I'm sort of like John the Baptist on this, it seems - a voice crying out in the wilderness.

Come on, people! Make a stink! This needs to be accomplished coincident with the next reset.

I support if ladder seasons are to be for a short(er) duration than access to ladder only items (including crafting and recipes) should be made available to non-ladder - making the ladder more about racing or acheiving 99 status rather than a very limited time to access certain items.

At very least port over the monster code. This time around I started a ladder character, and the improved monster AI is keeping it interesting enough that I've actually gotten into late Nightmare. Normally I get bored of the game and wander off by the end of act 1 NM.

OP, come to the dark side of the fence. Don't look upward to fix the game, look into yourself. Come... to single player / open battle.net.

It's really nice over here. With a 30-45 mana recharge time, the early game is almost tolerable. Not being told what content I can and can not have drop/craft, or that Immolation Arrow NEEDS a one second timer on it.... it's like heaven.

One second timers. In my Diablos? It's more common than you think. And it is wrong. It is WRONG.

They will never fix these defects. But they will happily make a speedy ladder reset that benefits botters to make some $$$. Good old Baalbots and their maphackjinks. I kind of miss them but don't miss that they were the only games 90% of people played in.

Well, then I would be cheating myself by playing a game that is exactly the opposite of hobbled. I just want to play the game, as it is. I don't want to cheat, make it easy, make it hard, but just enjoy the game in every way it has been made to enjoy. I play it all the time anyway, and it's the only computer game I play. I play 100% in private games, so maybe that's why you don't see people like me. I've played ladder through almost every ladder season this way, and I've played pretty much continuously no matter what the prevailing winds of season lengths have been. I'm still playing ladder even now, after the announced reset. I'll keep playing it after the reset, starting over, unless they grant this request, in which case I'll still play on the realms, but non-ladder, where all my treasures from past excursions lie in waiting.

I'm a loyal Diablo II player, and so I look forward to possibly being rewarded with an affirmative answer to this request, which can certainly come about in an unannounced patch, since no game code needs to be changed to make it happen. I have more faith in them than you, or else I never would have taken the time to present my request this way.

We'll hear their final answer in about two weeks.

Besides the changes proposed here, add the possibility to fight the Ubers offline as well.

And remember that, by offline, I'm also saying that all this content will be available to the "Other Multiplayer" option too, since you can use the same chars there.
