This happens when I'm creating games. I know the rules. I don't make em too fast. I wait the proper amount of time in between games. I'm not making a game and only staying in it for a few seconds. I'm either doing private boss runs (which are 15 minutes minimum), or trading games (where I could stay in forever because nobody ever joins them to actually trade); Yet quite frequently lately I keep getting the message "failed to join game". I can't be the only one to notice this, and I'm hoping someone has a reason.

I noticed as well. Servers seem to be remembering game names longer than it should...try to create with a game name that it still remembers and it won't work. At least that is what is seemed like to me.

No, this is more like what happens when the servers get screwy, in that you can't create or join games. Except instead of it happening for about 5 minutes each day, it's happening more and more often, to the point that last night it didn't stop happening.

Where you attempting to create the same game name? I tried a different name each time and it let me make right away, after the first "You could not join the game".

Sometimes, yes.
When I'm farming, I create completely random names with random passwords, so anytime I was farming and it happened, the game names were different.

Ah, that's different. When you create many games in a row you will often receive a 5 minute temp-ban from joining or creating games. If you do it too often, you'll get a 15 minute and then a one-hour temp ban as well.

Yeah but that can't be it either because it happened the first time I logged in that day, and each time I logged in for the first time each gaming session, as well as several times throughout. I think the servers have just gone screwy, and I'm afraid to do anything in-game.
