6 months is enough time for me to get my chars to the level high enough to mf and pvp

then for me to mf and pvp, and enjoy both

then get bored, start to tweak my characters and experiment

then get bored again, and log on less and less

then to quit for about a month before next reset.

9months - 1year is fine, if the botting stops. untill then i say 6 months. btw, bots really make pub games a pain in the arse, you cant even lvl restrict them, they have lvl 90 bots that will join and spam the sh*t out of your game and leave before you can squelch them, then there back again. its ridiculous.

Out of curiosity, how bad is the non-ladder? I haven't played D2 in a long time.

Like does everyone have hacked charms that make them near immortal and people have like 100s of SOJs and would give them away for free like it was nothing?

It almost sounds like non-ladder needs a reset if true, lol.

i am also fine with 9 months, but 12 are too long.

in my opinion there is no big difference between ladder and nonladder after 6 month, so that should be the reset time.

it seems we have overwhelming numbers for a 6 month ladder.. but if no one realizes they have to vote in the poll up top, that would suck. :)

Ladder shouldn't be longer than 6 months. Who would want to play a ladder season for any longer than that. Ladder is only fun at the beginning when everyone is still poor and the main goal of ladder is for someone to reach lvl99. After that it gets really boring.
Besides, wasn't resetting ladder every 6 months the original plan when ladder first began?

Don't you guys see the ladder reset interval is meaningless? While bots control the economy, anything less than a one-month interval is useless. The ladder gets flooded in a matter of weeks, not months, with their ill-gotten gains. But frequent resets aren't fair to those who play occasionally.

We should be clamoring for meaningful anti-bot measures, not humoring Blizzard by debating the stupid ladder season length.

The basis of ladder play is competition. Reach the top ASAP.

The current ladder did start on 9/28/10 and ran 5 month and 10 days by now. Checking the ladders today revealed:

Looking at these numbers it's hard to see the competition left for LoD. Even one Classic D2 Softcore char on USEAST made it to 99 by now! To me it Seems 6 months is plenty of time.

6 months is plenty of time to climb the ladder, get to as high a level as you wish, with all of the equipment you want, and then get bored and log off for 2 months before the next ladder reset.

A full year is far too long.

Voted 6 months but I'd prefer ladder seasons to last 3 months, far enough time to play your brains out..

1 yeah its nice i mean for every body enugh time to play. 6month i mean its a little short , minimum 9 month and best i mean its 1 yeah ;)

And there you have it. Take control of the botting, and it'll be a whole new ballgame. I strongly believe that if the bots where gone, people would be asking for a much longer season. Unless you have a group of 8 people that play religiously every day, your not going to get to a significant level above 90 in 3 month's without at least "riding" on a Baal bot.

Also, people continue to post that once there are a ton of level 99's, that's it, the ladder should be reset. But, they are forgetting that ladder is not only about the race, but also the content. This takes some time to collect and create. Unless of course you have a bot collect it for you while you sleep.

6 months is the best amount of time people that say that only people that bot can get to 99 in this time are dead wrong, first 99 was named kramer manually leveled bot's go 24 hours a day but they dont join the fullest baal games and they dont kill stuff in different acts while waiting for the tp. If you think 6 months isnt enough time to get to 97 then quit diablo. The fact is diablo 3 will more than likely be released this year maybe even by the time ladder resets if they decide to wait a a year, its better to switch it now and keep people interested.

Plenty of time for 3rd party programs, but not real live human beings.

We all know Blizzard won't stop botters. 6 months is plenty of time. Cheers
