Hello all Starcraft players.

I am new to both forum and Starcraft. I bought my own copy of Starcraft & Brood War expansion only 2 weeks ago.
I really got into it and after finishing the campaign of all races in Starcraft, I decided to play some onilne games.
I play with Terran, I like it more than any other race. I am looking for tips on what strategies I should use and how to improve.
My apm was in around 50, the highest I went was 104 at one point in the game ^^ I am looking for tips on how to improve that too!

I will appreciate all tips from more experienced players!

APM doesn't mean how good you are so don't worry about that. A good tip is to micro good, and that means for an example, a marine vs a zealot. If you upgraded your marine to have longer range and stim, you're at an advantage. Microing is when you attack(using range units) and fall back, making the opponent's units moving forward but units move forward until they are in the farthest range possible but still able to attack, creating a wall so the units in the back won't be able to attack until they get in place. Make sure you expand and get some turrets up as well. Hotkeying important things and using certain keys on your keyboard will allow you to do things much faster such as pressing 1 to select your command center without looking at it and then press S on your keyboard without having to move your mouse over to the image on the bottom. Scouting is one of the most important things you should do as well in order to know what race your opponent is and what type of buildings they have in order for you to counter, for example you're building a firebat but the opponent has wraiths or has a starport, you want to build goliaths.
