Not unless you have a good reason to....patch? upgrade? no more bots?
Previous ladders have run about a year, this is only half that, and previous ladders werent nearly as good. The economy has been excellent so far this ladder since the birthday dupe was fixed. Its not like we need to wipe the economy because its hopelessly riddled with dupes or anything; I think the value of runes throughout the season has been the best and held the strongest since 1.10
Yes, there's a very small but vocal minority of super-gamer-losers that have already acquired everything they want and are bored, but thats going to happen every ladder anyway, you cant make decisions just for 5% of the playerbase. Most casual players still have goals to achieve and this ladder season still has a lot to offer. And to dispel any doubt, I have 3 endgame characters fully complete and 1 more only one piece away, so its not like I just havent played enough this season.
Plus, ladder resets always have one major beneficiary - itemselling sites, that benefit from their customers getting wiped and having to buy everything again. Same goes for the lame-ass FG site.
If you have something new to offer, then of course thats different - but dont kill it prematurely just for sport, let it run its full course. Give it at least through the end of the year.
I'm assuming there's a patch because the season was so short. If there's no patch, there's no point. And if there's no patch, I don't want a reset. If there is a patch, oh boy a patch!
That said, the entire patch could be:
Version 1.13d
* Changed Blessed Hammer to deal 1 damage per skill level.
* Added two new mercenary names.
* Vendoring cracked sashes now advances the soj counter.
And I'd be happy. I want more, but my expectations are low. If there's gonna be a content patch it'll come closer to D3 for maximum hype. Blessed Hammer needs to just not exist. Don't nerf it so that it's fair, don't fix the stupid programming which lets it ignore immunities on non-animals, just kill it.
There is absolutely no need to do a ladder reset after only 6 months. Heck, there really isn't a need to reset it period, Blizzard needs to stop trying to fix D2 and just focus all of their attention on D3 so it will come out some time this century.
This just seems like a quick bandaid on a few issues that could be solved without a reset, but since they really don't care about D2 anymore they would rather just push 1 button. The new ladder will look just like the 1.13 ladder by January.
