The subject pretty much says it all, if you play Minecraft and have a memorable experience from it, post it here. I'll start...

It happened actually not to long ago, I was building a roller coaster out of minecart tracks and a cart, and this zombie started chasing me, I ran up the hill and tried to get into the minecart before the zombie got to me, but the zombie actually ended up beating me to the minecart, and just as that happened, the map turned to day, so I had a burning zombie sitting in my minecart. I have the picture to prove it as well.

So if you have any Minecraft stories, post them here. If you never heard about minecraft, go check it out.

I am aware that I am less than some people prefer me to be, but most people are unaware that I am so much more than what they see.

Well, I've worse ways to waste money (I.E. any Halo game that's not the first one), and i know it was sarcasm, but the games in the 1980s were 32bit, this is a 64bit game, and the 64bit era didn't truly start till 1996 when the nintendo 64 was released. Yeah, I'm an old school gamer and all around awesome person that knows information. Also, graphics don't make a game at all, and this game is living proof of that, along with any old school ID game as well

Awesome game.

I'm in the middle of creating a long railway with stations to take me from my base to my vacation spot on a island 300 blocks away.

Now the tricky part (not that tricky) to mine out every sand, earth, stone and replacing that with glass. And creating a platform above the sea level.

It's free to play now by the way, the latest patch made the server crap out.

My guess is either

a) nostalgia value or

b) freeing up dev time for other aspects

Probably both.

Yeah, i'm kinda inclined to believe that Fatso's assumptions are correct. The devs are able to work on functionality and playability instead of l33t 3D grafix, :P.

Also, related to this subject, they've had a ton of activity apparently:

I have to ask though, what happens after you build a nice little place? You no longer have to worry about the Zombies and such at night... What next?

Or is there stuff in the Multiplayer portion of the game I am not seeing because I have just played Single a bit?

Well, I continued to build a ton of different things in the game besides my little home.

QFT, I've gotten more enjoyment out of this simple little game than I have most modern $60 ones.

Dev, singular, up until about 2 weeks ago the "company" that makes minecraft was composed of a single person. This single person wasn't a very good artist so simple graphics was about his limit. Since then the company has had a staggering 200%! increase in employees, a business manager and someone else who is starting on a different project.

Build a big awesome place like Fort Zero, maybe build complex systems of minetracks with automatic stations, learn how to use redstone properly and build a functioning digital clock(been done). Go spelunking, explore the world, fine more diamonds!

Minecraft is a sand box game, as such there is much more freedom than most games, notably how easy it is to protect yourself from enemies. You have to challenge yourself, build bigger, dig deeper, fight more.

So essentially, we can think of it as a Sims MMO type thing?

The sims limits you to what they have programed the game to let you put in your house

Minecraft limits you to your imagination
I was looking at things people have built.. some of it is pretty crazy.

If all else fails, you can play multiplayer and destroy things people have spent weeks building.
