Hey guys I know as well as anyone else that suggestions really dont mean much in D2 but I had and idea to buff the Druid's summon tree which has been seen as very dissapointing for many players.
My idea was to replace Carrion vine and Solar creeper with a third vine, avaliable at level 30 which does the job of both as well as add a weaker versoin of corpse explosion which could be synergized by other summons.
Parasitic creeper; Summon a parasitic vine to consume the life energy of your fallen enemies and to turn their corpses into deadly explosions.
level 1:
life 100-150
Explosion causing 50% of corpse's life
1% of maximum mana returned
1% of maximum health returned
Level 10:
life 575-625
Explosion causing 50% of corpses life
5% of maximum health returned
5% of maximum mana returned
level 20;
life 1100-1350
explosion causing 50% of corpses life
10% of maximum health returned
10% of maximum mana returned
Synergies:
Heart of wolverine; +1% explosion damage/ hard point (maximum corpse explosion of 70%)
Heart of the oak:; +1% mana and health returned per 4 hard points points (maximum 15% health/mana return)
As a 1 pointer it would add some nice damage with the explosion but would be fragile and not be over powered, as it was leveled up it would become a very useful tool but it would not reach the damage output of the other explosion skills unless an investment in synergies was made. The replenishment effect might be a little much but it would require a 40 point investment to reach 15% so you are certainly sacrificing some damage from the other summons to obtain it.
I'm thinking of raising a boner next ladder. Anyone want to rub, I mean run, with me?
You're right, I didnt even consider the fact that all classes have the same number of skills. I suppose they would still be very viable options if the skill was divided into 2 different vines each doing their own effect.
