Hey all just a quick question. If a trap assassin has one pt into weapon block and is using two trap claws and one of them happens to be ethereal, when you block your claws would lose durability because your treating your claws like a sheild? I was just curious cause I wanted to try and reroll a pair of greater talons and i am assuming the above thing would happen. Thanks

A sucessfull block with Weapon Block reduces the durability of the claws which could destroy an ethereal claw.

Yet i don't see your problem since you plan to re-roll a claw. When a ethereal blue or yellow item gets re-rolled the ethereal property of the item is removed along with any other mods. Then new mods are aplied.

Since the mod "ethereal" is not a general magical prefix or suffix the re-rolled item will turn into a non-ethereal item at any time. That's also the reason you never see an ethereal item for sale or get an etheral imbue or craft.

Ok now for another question, greater talons/runic talons are supposedly the best to use cause of their -30 base speed, would any of those found in hell at least be good to roll a 2sin, 3light sentry, 2os claw with 40ias on top? That would obviously need to be a rare... and would be pretty unlikely. Also keep in mind rares lose ilvl when rerolling depending on the clvl of the reroller so you'll need to do some math to know the output rare level. Furthermore all of those mods together would be insanely rare. Your best option to get something remotely close to that would be levelling characters up to a minimum of level 71 (higher is better because it dramatically boosts the chance of +3 LS without much of a decrease in chance for +2 sin skills) and handing white greater talons to charsi for imbues (imbuing has a higher chance to spawn good mods and staff mods than normal rares do). Still... mostly you're going to get junk.

Other options include shopping for skill claws. popping in and out of nihlathak's temple by anya to reroll her screen quickly. you might spend a day or so shopping before you find one that has both either +2 sin or +3 traps AND +X lightning sentry. But you do have a good chance of getting 2 sockets when you hand that claw to larzuk for socketing.

This is possible on a rare and almost possible on a blue exceptional or elite claw.

+2 sin skills and 2 sockets are prefixes
+40 IAS is a suffix
+3 lightning sentry is a single skill which is a randomly assigned weapon specific mod

All these are possible to get on a rerolled claw but as you know a blue item can have only 1 prefix and 1 suffix. Still you if get lucky with the +2 sin / 40 IAS / +skills draw you can take the claw to Larzuk and have him add up to 2 sockets.

As Xivarmy has stated above the likely faster way to rerolling is an extended shopping trip at hell Anja.

Nice thanks for the posts guys. I got real hyped about it when I found a rare "wrist sword" with 2sin, 3light sentry, 1 wake of inferno AND 2os. Hmmmm so i guess its time to visit anya :). Thanks again guys
