Hi there!!!

I've been working in some maps, then I had the idea to upload to my maps models from SC2. SO I went and I imported some files. I tried and they weren't the models, so I tried a bit longer. I didn't find the models.

Can you please help me? Is there a way to import the models?

And if not, How can I capture or create models? (im asking about the format)

Im asking this because in BattleTanks there's an old Medivac model

How did that guy do that?

That medivac model was created by fans, not by Blizzard.

SC2 uses .m3 models.
WAR3 uses .mdl and .mdx models.

The two formats will be possible to interconvert as soon as somebody creates a converter. Keep checking google: http://www.google.com/search?q=m3+to+mdl|mdx

99% says this guy doesn't have 3ds max and isn't going to like it if we tell him to get it.

p.s.: Instead of backporting ONE and only one SC2 model to war3 per map, come over to SC2 with the whole map!

Why just one? Because SC2 models take up 10 megabytes! Lets look at a simple zerg building, the spine crawler: just the basic model file is 1.3MB and that doesn't include textures (6MB), sounds (1.8MB), and finally, separate death and placement models (1MB). As you can see, this exhausts your map size limit for multiplayer completely.

Don't use SC2 models in war3, get some fan-made ones with a much lower poly count instead.

That may be true, but if Anpoca is making a campaign then life is different - there is a campaign which has a few maps in it, 10MB apiece.
If you are making a campaign, the hard drive is the limit!

EDIT: And the Internet connection. No-one wants to wait a few hours to download a file which will probably filll up thier hard drive completely.
