I am pretty happy with the current skills of all the classes in Diablo 3 so far, except for the fact that there are only 20 per character now...but that's not even my biggest concern.

I think the Witch Doctor will be severely underplayed when the game comes out, most likely the least played of all 5. I don't find anything about the witch doctor that appeals to me, besides a few of the cool crowd controlling curses identical to the Necromancer's in D2, and wall of Zombies is quite creative. The summoning skills are OK, but they seem to be just a downgraded version of the Necromancer's. Instead of harnessing the forces of Undeath in order to reanimate any monster you slay and summon skeletons up out of dead corpses, we have Zombie Dogs, Locusts, Spiders, Bats, and worst of all, TOADS. Really Blizzard? Toads? I like to think you guys know what you're doing, but there comes a time when one must question the indelible works of Blizzard. I know they are trying to go for a more tribal, voodoo user from the jungle, but I think they can come up with something a little more frightening than......toads. Maybe this is a joke? How about Plague of the Viper? Viper snakes come out with deadly, venomous bites. Or you could make them like the annoying but deadly Claw Vipers from Diablo 2. Just a thought. But in any case--as the Necromancer's replacement, this character is doing a bad job at keeping my interest.

I really liked the Necromancer in D2, the skills were one-of-a-kind and they were always fun to play. But I don't think I'll be playing the Witch Doctor in D3 until I've played all of the other 4 classes first for a while and have nothing else to try. I hope Blizzard can save the Witch Doctor and modify some of the current skills or add better features, because the way it is going I don't see how he even comes close to competing with the badassery of, say, the Monk. Do you honestly think that just as many people who try the Monk first will try the Witch Doctor? Seems to me like the Witch Doctor will be a gross minority of the played classes in D3.

What is everyone's opinion on the Witch Doctor? Don't guys think that this class urgently needs improvement?
