I challenge any blizzard rep to install diablo 2 on a laptop and take it home from the office.
Log on to the game on the USEast realm any time from (8pm eastern - 9am)
Try to play the game in a public game, your screen will instantly be flooded with spam!
This is the blizzard rep challenge!
Please do something about the spam bot problem!
thanks

The sad thing is is that even in NM and Hell difficulty level restrictions are still not widely used by people who make games. If even even half of the people hosting public games used them it would cut way down on spam in public games. I figured it would be common sense, but I guess not.
i dont join games that allow anyone in. screw you if you forget to put a lvl restriction.

If everyone put lvl restrictions on their games, then the spam bots would have to be a higher lvl to be use full. If that was the case we'd lose the lvl restriction weapon.
The idiots that don't do this, are what make this trick work.

Q u o t e: You can use the /o igw command to ignore anyone not on your friends list that tries to whisper you. It's a command that sticks so you'll have to use /o unigw to undo it. Check these pages for more information - http://www.battle.net/info/commands.shtml ; http://www.battle.net/info/friends.shtml
edit: Use this in combination of a level restriction and your screen spam should be greatly reduced.
