Update: 03.30.10

Please refer to the following thread regarding the delay of the ladder reset: http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=24038826950

--

We're pleased to announce the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne 2010 Tournament. The upcoming tournament will use a similar format to those of previous years, with three invitational ladders hosted on the Kalimdor, Northrend, and Azeroth Gateways. Once again, these ladders will initially be populated on an invitation-only basis and feature the world's most established and successful Warcraft III players. Each will function as a standard Battle.net solo ladder, with their own Web interface displaying rankings and their own map pools. We will be resetting the open ladder on March 29 for those interested in participating. For more information and details on the tournament, please check out the FAQ.

Ladder reset is always welcome, thanks.

I would really hope though, that with this reset, the AMM range of finding players is extended. A month or two after reset, the long search times for good players will return

Or, perhaps, a map pool change for 3v3/4v4/FFA? We've had the same maps for the past 3 years now, a small change would really be nice and I'm sure wouldn't take long to do ....

Hello,
My name is Beljone and I play on the USWEST Realm. However I am sure this concerns most realms.
My concern is, or rather question, what will Blizzard do during this year's tournament to eliminate 3rd party program users from playing in the ladder, rather yet, the pro ladder? I came back to Warcraft 3 last summer and since then I've met countless amounts of maphackers and drophackers alike on both WEST and EAST. Now, most of the maphackers aren't good enough to make the pro ladder to be honest, but to those that are, how are you going to prevent that from happening? I have 'friends' who hack and I know the leading retailer, (Zmap) prides itself on updating 1-3 days after every patch (source: deleted). I also know that new maphacks come out every day, for free, on deleted.
I'm not here to propose a solution, I'm here to raise awareness that I wouldn't otherwise, but you guys have shown me that you still care because you're still holding tournaments for this game.
I'd be willing to help any way I can also, as I'm sure the rest of the community is, so let us know what we can do and what you will do.
Sincerely yours,
Beljone

I couldn't agree more.

Blizzard have left map hacking to run rife now for essentially 18months.

There is little motivation to play in such a tournament (with high regard), if the typical attiude of "email in the replay" is spat back.

And if you ARE going to do something for Tour 2010 - why can't you apply it to all the other servers?
Every single battle.net tournament at the moment is typically 60-70% hackers in the top 16.

That is utterly disgusting. There is not one tournament since 2008 where i've lost in final rounds to hackers.

I have uninstall my wc3 yesterday and now i see this. You just say to people " Hey we will restart ladder after 5 days. gl " Do you care what is the situation in battle net after your last "hacks-fix" patch ? I think all know the answer. You dont care and in battle net is full of SC and Diablo bots who spam in the channels for new zmap and private drop hack. Battle net is almost empty because you late so much with your last patch, players mass retired and if you have level +30 u must wait to find a game some time 15-20 minuntes.I think ENC 2010 will be last big tourney for this game. Actually do you really care about the hackers and what the players wants.. I think they want NORMAL support in YOUR forums,Battle net working and updating anti cheat program.. I know its not so hard for you, but you just dont care. GL in the b net parody from me x-blizzard fan with total suck english "D1no".

Share music, info, ideas, porn.. the net is for it.. X)

Time zone's guys... It'll be done shortly one would imagine.

NO surprise though that no Blizzard rep has had the decency to reply to their own announcement about the serious issues surrounding ladder 2010
