So the bug appears on the campaign of zerg episode 8 "eye for an eye" of Starcraft Classic. When u finish the mission, after kerrigan's speach, during zeratul's answer, the game crashes. It asks for debugging or closing, so when I try to debug using MSVS2008 it notes: "Unhandled exception at 0x15004013 in StarCraft.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x020b1000." Hope it may help you to fix the bug
me + a friend also get the same problem on 2 seperate systems, game crashes when cut-scene tries to trigger in zerg mission 8 (original SC) with latest patch.
you can use a cheat to bypass the level tho.

are you guys playing from the CD or did you use that legit trick that you can now do since the 1.16 patch to play without CD that involves copying over the install.exe and renaming it starcraft/brood war.mpq?
I'm playing without CD, and I used to cheats to skip over to that level and rush through it just to see if I got the same problem. It didn't crash for me.
Q u o t e: You are patched to the latest version right? Not running any third party software? Anti-virus turned off? RAM checks out okay from Memtest?
The latest, yep. No any software related to SC:BW. But anti-virus turned on, well I don't think Symantec may treat SC:BW as any threat, though who knows. And what do u mean about the Memtest? Do u mean my RAM might be broken?

I also encountered the same problem on the same map in the transmission from Zeratul.
In my investigative nature I was able to explore the problem in more detail. I extracted the files of the map and put them into a MPQ archive to open the map with StarEdit. I played the sound file from the transmission and oddly it stops in between (the text in the trigger indicates it would go on quite some time more). I also extracted the sound file Z8M41uze.wav and tried to play it in WMP. And surprise surprise during playback WMP encounters an error stating the file can't be played or is damaged. I don't know whether this sound was intact on the original english SC CD, as I played it in german back then and had no problems.
Bottom line: Z8M41uze.wav is damaged causing the crash
