  • 0. Asking about assassin's dual claw   03/07/2010 04:58:33 PM PST
Can anyone explain the advantages about dual claw? (I'm not planning on using dragon claw)
Also, i learn that there is dominated claw and secondary claw. Does it mean that assassin only attacks using 1 claw? How can i make the properties of both claws effective?

Thx a lot

The main advantage for using x2 claws is that an Assassin can then use dual claw requiring skills like Dragon Claw and Weapon Block. If you don't plan on making a Martial Arts Assassin, going dual claws for just Weapon Block could still be extremely effective because it can block magical attacks too, which is something a shield just cannot do.

The Assassin using x2 claws will attack with both of them if you use a Normal Attack. If you use some skills like Tiger Strike, you will only use 1 claw for the attack. If you use Whirlwind from Chaos, you will use both claws.

For non-MA Assassins, the main use for a secondary claw is for the ability to use Weapon Block and for any mods that claw may have. For example, my Trappers use dual claws because each claw can add +3 to Traps and +3 to Wake of Fire or Lightning Sentry, which will total to +12 to either Wake of Fire or Lightning Sentry.
