It's just a foot taller guys... and it's not that much wider either... and did you see the amazon's shelf? That HAD to increase her 'collisions.' (*snicker *lol)

http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/classes/

She HAD to be 6'2". Minimum. True Amazon woman.

And maybe this time around we have a different missile system where the aarows don't fly slower than the characters could throw a football. Maybe if a missle (which is the ONLY collision that is problematic) is targeted at you, it flies at you FAST, and if it 'rolls' a miss, it flies past you to potentially collide with someone else.

Problem is using 'penetrate' with missiles, or a miss. If the barb happens to be the one behind the target (or in front), it HAS to have the exact same hit profile. It would NOT make sense to change that for any characters, or they would be at a huge disadvantage.

I think they need a drastically different system here. Something that includes 'roll-playing' type missiles, not arcade-style, and ALSO include physics. So if my barb steps in front of the witch doctor with a 6' tall wall of sheet metal, they can't hit the witch doctor lobbing fire bombs behind him. Good for strategy AND realism.

ok, I'm sure the Devs could EASILY make it so all characters see each other with an equal hitbox.

Problem solved.

What does that even mean? see each other with an equal hit box? do you mean, keep the hitbox the same and make him visually larger? that would also bring very obvious problems in pvp. You're not very good at this are you?

you know he brings up a good point if they were to do this any melee class would have to walk up to him but it would look as if two people were merged together or something because to hit them theyd have to walk to the hitbox but the person was still regular size

Make all 5 characters have the same size hit box regardless of their in game graphical size. What "obvious" problem could this produce?

First of all, if we are going for realism, then a larger character should have a larger hit box. Simple really. He's bigger, but also tougher. He takes more hits from missles, but also can withstand more hits. Besides that, how many more hits do you think he would actually take? Probably not enough to seriously affect anything. 10% maybe?

Second, look at the game play footage re re, he is considerable larger than the other characters in the game. (I don't know exactly who I'm calling a re re, maybe the op?)

Third, don't worry about it. It's Blizzards job to balance pvp and they will do a good job. They obviously didn't do too bad of a job in D2 because at the last Frisky memorial we had about 1 person playing every class.

edit:

Fourth, It's my 27th birthday today. Don't know why, just thought you should know.

First, happy birthday.

Second, I disagree. That is one of the reasons that I play female characters. And as small as possible. You can't see them, and it's tougher to hit them, but they can damn sure hit you. And they are absolutely equal in everything. So no, that isn't something easy to balance, and you really do need that same character 'hit' profile or 'hit box' or whatever the hell it's called.

That said, it IS easy to balance. Just use 'RPG' rules for to-hit. You attack with a bow, it rolls a 'to-hit,' and it is almost instantaneous. Not that damn hard to figure out. 'Course like I said before, it should mix SOME arcade-type action and physics 'cause you may be shooting into a crowd... and SOMETHING should happen.

He looks about 5'11 or so in the character screen, I guess they could scale him up to like 6'2-6'4.
As long as they don't overdo it and go past the limits of human anatomy, I think it'll be fine.

This is how big the Barbarian should be. To those not old enough to remember...yes this is real.

Here's another great example of how big the Barbarian should be.

They aren't to scale on the class selection page.

Edit: Are you allowed to tell us the height/weight of each character revealed so far?

So how big is he? Ya know... sometimes you give good replies, and sometimes you just reply.

You know what we want.

Give it up.

Well fun fact - technically the witch doctor male is still the tallest when standing up straight, but his hunch makes him a much shorter character when he's actually in the game.

Aside from that technicality...

The male barbarian is, and is intended to always be the tallest character. He's at least 7' tall. The female wizard is probably somewhere around 5'10.

Boom!

Hell yeah. That is what I am talking about. WHAT a guess.

Cept the witch doctor, who is what, 7' 4" or something? Damn - taller than NBA superstars. Bet he could toss a three-pointer! Just don't catch it...

Just so I may know, how tall was the zon? My guess is 6'2". And (*whispers) what was her dimensions? I mean, if you know... not like I care or anything...

All you really have to do is compare screenshots. Our camera angle/distance hasn't changed too dramatically so comparisons are pretty easy.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/bashiok/height.jpg

That's female wizard vs female barbarian obviously.

edit - I take that back. Even slight deviations in the camera distance completely throw comparisons out of whack. But my previous statement still stands; able to compare screenshots side-by-side or not.

nonono... the AMAZON from D2. That said, i guess it was pretty close... as she was about as tall as the barb in D2, if I recall right. And it is the exact same guy...
