  • 0. Diablo II unable to connect to bnet   01/08/2010 03:34:55 PM PST
I am not able to connect to Europe only. I can connect to any other realm.

My Diablo II and LoD discs and CD keys are original, I bought them exactly 2 years ago and I have not had any problems so far.

The message is "If using a modem whatsoever ..."

The most interesting is that I played d2 4 days ago and can't connect since then (I have not changed anything in the computer settings) ...

I would appreciate if you help

Thanks

Sounds like you're restricted, but let's check... Download the Diagnostic Tool created by Win32, below:

Extract the files and then execute the program inside.

First, type in "resolve *realm.battle.net" without the quotation marks. If you get many ip's, then that works.

The second test is to type this:
"connect *realm.battle.net" without the quotation marks.

Now, post the contents of Log.txt in a reply to this thread so it can be reviewed.

*: Change this with your realm. For example, useast.battle.net.

Murcielago,

The IP address last used by this account to connect to Europe is currently restricted for another 8 days from now. Restrictions of this length are typically imposed when an invalid cd-key is used to connect. Unfortunately, there's no way to get the exact cause, nor can it be removed before it's run its course.

Interesting ....

I know it's useless to complain or try to convince you that I have not done anything wrong or whatever, so I will just thank you for the information. At least I know that in 8 days I will be able to connect again.

/edit
There is one topic in this part of the forum, where a list of reasons for a 14-day restriction is provided. It reads:

"Restrictions lasting longer than 72 hours usually indicates that you were witnessed by a Battle.net representative doing something against the Terms of Use Agreement, which warranted a lengthy restriction.

Common causes for extended restrictions include, but are not limited to:

* Attempting to use an invalid CD-Key (often associated with bots).
* Excessive spamming or flooding in a channel (often associated with bots).
* Spamming over multiple channels - even if it is just one line per channel. (often associated with bots).
* Use of flood or load bots.
* Harrassment of another player and/or clan.
* Advertisement of an inappropriate website URL.
* Use of third-party/add-on programs (hacks) - these include but are not limited to sending bad packets, flooding the server(s), and the use of hack programs."

If one of these causes represents my case, I would most certainly disagree with this restriction. Muling is the only thing that I often use and can bring me a restriction, but it is a 3-day one, not 14 ...

Just one more thing. The fact that I do not know exactly what I did wrong can't help me prevent doing the same thing again. If this happens, what are the consequences going to be?

The restriction system is not automated, someone did not do it manually. That means that whatever you did flagged you for a 2-week restriction.

The first sentence you wrote does not make any sense. lol

Do you answer to all topics that appear in this forum?

Whoops, I meant to say that the restriction system is automated, sorry. Posted it at 4AM, =|.

And yeah, I try to answer as many as I can, granted I have some sort of solution.
