I got a 3 socket Crystal Sword I found on a single player (offline game) 2x Eld runes, 2x Nef runes, 2x Tir runes, 1x El rune, 1x Ith rune, and 1x Tal rune. Do any of those (probably low) runes work on swords, or scepters? I've got a 3 socket Crystal Sword, and a 2 socket Pally Scepter. Thanks for any advice ;)

Duh, I've only been playing Diablo 2 since its inception! Yes, I know runewords, and I know the order the runes have to go in on socleted items, and that a 3 rune runeword won't work on a 4 socket item, etc. Does anyone have a more useful response to my question? Or are people just there to waste my time?

If you'd clicked the link in the first reply you'd have got your answer, as the arreat summit contains a complete list of all currently active runewords. Which pretty much makes me assume you're trolling but assuming you're just lazy, and i'm just bored enough to answer it anyways, the low rune, 3 socket sword RWs are:

Malice: Ith El Eth
King's Grace: Amn Ral Thul

Neither is likely to be particularly good in a crystal sword. Malice's only bright point is its 100% open wounds that stops all monsters from healing (including ubers), but its damage is terrible otherwise. King's Grace isn't a bad early weapon, but a crystal sword is not a great thing to make it out of, try for an exceptional sword or scepter. And since you need a new base item anyways, you might as well make it an Honor instead (Amn-El-Ith-Tir-Sol, any 5 socket melee weapon)

I thought Malice had one more bright spot:

-100 Monster Defense per hit.

I'll admit that although it doesn't have great damage, you could always put it in your swap, use it to debilitate monsters and then swap back.

I am beyond any god or demon in the game now. Could easily kill Baal in Hell (yes, even if he spawned duplicates of himself, twice)! It does involve installing a program, but I can assure y'all it is virus free. NB: be sure to download version 1.03 (that's the only version out there that works with the latest D2 patch v1.12). Hope you spread the word. Take care everyone!
