Usually I don't need this option, but if you need to talk with your clan mates or people in channel there could be a a mute option to get attention or to mute players if you don't want them to chat; only listen:
-All operators can mute people in channel by typing /mute NAME (/m name) or right-clicking at name and "mute".
-All operators could change channel status:
-/mute all (/m all)
-/mute non clan members (m ncm)
-/unmute all (/unm all)
-/unmute clan members (/unm cm)

-All operators could chat when mute "all" is on.
This system could work as ban system that if the operator leaves the channel, those who where muted by channel operator will be now unmuted.

The mute will last as long as the Operator stays in the clan channel - same way with banning.
All Operators can change the chat channel status or unmute. Rejoining wont take the mute away.

It can be also a good way, but note that if players can still chat and if there is about 20 players in a clan channel who are chating it wont be really the best way to get attention. Also you can already use the /me or /emote message...well yeah everyone can use it.
I still think muting would be a good thing. Or do you have anything against it?
