It's not Belial, it's the Morlu Caster!

I made a post about this the other day, Belial being the demon showed in the Monk trailer.

But as usual, only flamers came in my thread. But yeah, I thought that was Belial as well...

Seeing Belial somewhere in Act 2 would make sense given the reference to deception etc.

Belial is mentioned back in the original diablo manual (I love that manual) as the Lord of Lies. The scene in the desert is of a cloaked figure who lies to the monk in order to lure him to the town where he is trapped. Would be a little hasty to think this is belial himself in the video given that the monk wtf ninja palm strikes his face off exploding him. Cant imagine they would kill off a greater evil in a character intro vid. Id certainly guess Belials influence is meant to be represented in that character though.

i dont think this thing was him but to the thread question i think indeed that belial will be the boss from act 2. but he must be bigger not such a little piece of sh*t

It was certainly Belial's follower, since he used deception as his primary tool!

The Monster seen in the monk trailer in fact has absolutly nothing to do with Belial.
How I come to this, if you refer to the Diablo I Book "The Dark Exile" it says and i quote
"With the ascension of Man and the subsequent standstill of the Great Conflict, the Three Brothers began to devote their energies to the perversion of mortal souls. The Three realized that Man was the key to victory in the war against Heaven, and thus altered their rigid agendum that they had propagated since the Beginning. This change caused many of the Lesser Evils to question the authority of the Three, and so brought about a great rift between the Prime Evils and their servitors.

In their ignorance, the Lesser Evils began to believe that the Three were afraid to continue the war with Heaven. Frustrated by the cessation of the war, Azmodan and Belial saw the situation as their chance to overthrow the Prime Evils and take control of Hell for themselves. The two demon lords made a pact with their minor brethren, assuring them that the wretched plague of humanity would not deter the ultimate victory of the sons of Hell. Thus in fact Belial deceived Diablo and his brothers so i doubt that Belial or any follower of his would refer the monk as HERO when the soul purpose of Diablo is to Defeat Diablo.


But I do not have a clue who it is i just know its not Belial.

I think its a kind like the "activatet vessel" from the cultists if you look close you can se "teeth of diablo" on it

that is not belial that the monk killed (he's one of the two lesser evils man , he cant get punked like that ). we know belial and asmodian is going to be in the game he said something about that, but we just dont know what they look like. we'll just have to endure and wait for d3 to hit the shelves( only then will we know the plot of d3).

Even if it is possible that its him I doubt he is.
I don't thin they would reveal such an importan boss so soon.

I also posted a thread about this and of that same interview's quote about the "two major demons" the game is focusing on, but about the guy in the Monk intro vid..

I'm sure that's a sort of council member for Belial. A "Mouth of Sauron" type spreading his evil; maybe we'll have to track down and kill several of them around Act2...

Ya we definitly need a class like Achilios.... no wait. A Serenthia & Achilios mix. Something very similar to an Amazon I suppose. Bow & Spear.

Would suck not having a Necromancer with Morlu around.
