amazon rune word armor is not worth it imo. The only one which I can ever forsee myself using is the assassin one for the IAS.

Amazon RW just does not provide enough benefits for the cost of the runes/ there are much better items out there

Treachery is the best by far. Amazing IAS, Venom, and Fade makes it very useful in PvP even. It's also a great merc armor. The others aren't really worth it imo.

The Necro one is ok if for some reason you don't need the FCR on the skin of vipermagi. Skin of viper is my favorite Necro armor, but Bone could probably be worth it for a pure summon based Necro who doesn't need the additional FCR. Gaining one skill point at the cost of FCR, MDR, and the ability to further socket with more resist or MF is a pretty big trade off though.

This, of course, is assuming you don't have access to dupewords like Enigma.

the good thing about the amazon armor is that its cheap... dirt cheap in fact. It's also absolute trash.

Why bother with that when you can for shaftstop or glads bane?

I'm assuming you really don't want the goods like CoH/ fortitude.

The thing you need to consider when looking at rune words is the value of the runes you put into it. The highest rune you put into 'Peace' is shael so obviously it is best used at lower levels. That being said it also adds bonuses that other classes could use.

Consider putting this armor on a barbarian, melee paladin or an SS druid. Most LLD ( low level duelers, levels 9-30) use Artisans armor of the squid (~75 hp and 4 sockets with +max damage jewels). If someone didn't want to spend their resources and time gathering jewels the 'Peace' rune word would be a fine choice because it adds +2 critical strike (25% chance to do double damage) and 20% faster hit recovery. Peace is not much of an end game rune word and I don't think it was ever designed to be but it does have some uses.

IMO all of the class rune words are useful at some point as long as you aren't looking at highly duped rune words and planning on making them your end game gear. Regrettably most people only play end game runs and PvP, very few are in it for the rest of the content which makes a lot of decent leveling gear, like class specific rune words obsolete when compared to the level 75 gear they will obtain 2 hours after starting a new character.

I'm thinking of raising a boner next ladder. Anyone want to rub, I mean run, with me?

Some of these runwords are worth using, but mainly on support characters ( enchant sorc, BO barb) , only treachery and bone are actualy usable on characters who really fight .though i would never use treachery on an assasin ( waste not being able to choose between burst of speed end fade), i sure did use it on my javazon, my barbarian ,melee paladin, and many of my merceraries keep using it . the venom proc is said to be deadly when combined with poison dagger or poison javelin skills.

Q u o t e:

Good post.

How would you use myth? I want to like it but the 3% on being struck proc for howl is disappointingly low. The taunt proc has some serious potential though.

Principle just looks like crap IMO. As a legit player I would not waste a gul on that.

I have used myth in one situation but i need to allude to my first post and say that it was on a BM, LLD (level 25) barbarian. BM being that he used strength glitch and slow but he was tons of fun.

This was the setup...

Barbarian; Level 25 (not rushed through other difficulties/quests) Welfare build

Stats;

Strength, Dexterity, Energy- Base
Vitality all points.

Skill layout;
Combat skills- 2 points in frenzy, 1 in prerequisites (5)
War cays- 2 points in battle orders, 1 in prerequisites (4)
Combat masteries- 16 points in mace mastery 1 point in inc speed/stamina and iron skin. (19)

28 points total, 24+4 from normal quests

Gear layout;

Helm; Dusk Deep- with +15 max damage jewel
Armor; 'Myth' Mage plate
Weapon(s) 2x general's Tan do Li Ga (unique flail)- with +15/14 max damage jewels in each
Weapon(s) (switch) 2x spirit swords (stats don't matter they are only for prebuffing BO)
Gloves/belt- death set
Boots- goblin toe or hotspurs (situational)
Rings/Amulet- Angelic

I got enough strength and dexterity charms to equip my gear and give me the stat (no gear appearance) glitch which, when combined with double handed attacks creates the "blink" glitch. The rest of my charms were either HP or combination hp and damage/ar charms.

In the end the character had about 1400 hp buffed and did about 500 max double swing damage, he also slowed opponents and blinked off screen, earning lots of hax complaints.

His name was SomeRandomNoob and my younger brother made a clone character named "SomeRandomNub" and together we terrorized public low level duel games.

I would like to put out a disclaimer that these builds were bad mannered and not to standard with most LLD rules, they were also not real competitors when it came to real LLD, especially because they fit between normal brackets. You will kill most good level 19 zealots and concentrate barbs but you will get slapped around by any good level 30s (unless they are fire or ice casters)

That's 'Myth' As far as Principle goes, I would not likely waste a Gul rune on it unless i was playing as a caster type, on iron man mode and a Gul happened to drop before Skin of the vipermagi. Any melee character would benefit more from a rare with FHR and +hp which can easily be gambled.

I'm thinking of raising a boner next ladder. Anyone want to rub, I mean run, with me?

Q u o t e:
Rain looks like it has potential.

Combine that with a carrion wind and make a twister factory.

Good idea! I didn't really think of that. Two Carrions and you'll have a 16% chance for a level 13 twister +5% chance for a level 15 twister, meaning one out of five hits will produce the effect. Think fireclaw druid

If you're looking for wind procs I don't think a fire claws build is your best choice. Because procs gain bonuses from synergies an arctic wolf or polar near build would probably be best.

Basic skill layout is;
20 hurricane
20 cyclone armor
20 lycanthropy
Fury/maul to taste+support skills

You will also want to equip a stormlash or horizon's tornado for the painful tornado procs.

As stated before, Treachery is probably the best 1.11 Runeword. I had a legit HC Smiter that killed the Ubers using Treachery as Armor.
Just recently I played through single player with a Frenzy Barb for fun. Treachery was my end gear (beating Baal @ lvl 81). Ironically I found a Jah Rune in Single Player, while my highest Rune on the Realms ever was a Vex. Too bad most of the Rune Words with Jah require another or even multiple HRs.
