A friend of mine bought the SC battle chest yesterday, (physical copy) and now when he tries to get the latest patch from battle.net it tells him the patch has downloaded and it will now restart the game. The game restarts, and he goes to play multiplayer, but then it requires him to download the patch again, and comes up with the error message STORM_ERROR_REQUIRES_UPGRADE.

Now, before you go telling me all the things to try here as far as trouble shooting, let me tell you what we've already done. First off, I should mention that his OS is vista. On to the things we've tried.

-restart computer
-reinstall game
-patch manually
-run as administrator

after attempting to patch manually, the error message that came back when he tried to do multiplayer was this:

Patching cannot be completed because the patch archive is corrupt File Name: SEXP_IX86_1xx_1161.mpq

after this, we gave up on trying to play together tonight, can anyone shed light on these error messages?

i've been getting the same error. i bought the version off the blizzard site and downloaded it and when i try to connect to battle.net i get the STORM_ERROR REQUIRES_UPGRADE as well. i've tryied reinstalling and patching but nothing is working.

i did try that its not working. and as for shareware etc no its a brand new computer.

Same problem, I just need help. Im missing specific files.
