  • 0. Battlenet Europe Gateway Connection Fail   07/15/2009 05:37:34 PM PDT
Hello.

Earlier today my windows vista home premium x64 had a windows security update which i obviously decided to install. After installing it and rebooting though my WC3:TFT somehow isn't working anymore.

I have tryed to reinstall WC3 from scratch, and rebooting my computer+modem but nothing seems to fix it.

When i press on Battle.net when having the gateway europe, i get this message before even reaching the loginscreen:

"Unable to connect to battle.net. You may be trying to connect to an invalid battle.net server. If you are using a modem, you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to battle.net."

my connection is fibre 100mbit and the only thing not working is the gateway europe, everything else in any game any program any browser works perfect.
The strange part with it imo is that if i choose any other gateway(USwest/USeast/Asia), it works perfectly and brings me to the login screen where i can login and start browsing/playing.

Your connection has been temporarily restricted from Battle.net. This restriction is realm-specific and can last up to 2 weeks.

It can happen for any of the following reasons:
- Using an invalid CD key
- Rapidly connecting and disconnecting to Battle.net
- Creating or joining numerous games within a short time period such as "Magic finding" or "Baal runs"
- By the use of "add-on programs"
- Chat channel abuse
- Failed login attempts
- In game latency caused by excessive spell effects

We are unable to lift these restrictions early or tell exactly why the restriction was placed on your connection.

I know this isn't the place to appeal but i am sure that nothing of the things mentioned actually have occurred and am now obviously curious of the reason to this.

Is it possible to actually get a email or an answer here of a reason in form of ONE category why the account got banned?
(I've heard for example in WoW you get a email if a ban happends with the reason why, which to me sounds nothing else than fair)

We are unable to tell exactly why the restriction was placed on your connection. Our system doesn't show us that, just whether there's a restriction or not.
