I guess its blizzards own fault for being to nice to their player base as most players think they have some sort of obligation to go back to old and busted games. They have no obligation to even go back to D2 at all. They are working on SC2/ D3/ WoW and a new MMO. For them even considering going back to D2 really shows how much they want to please their players.

Of course they are gunna focus on games that are going to make them more money, why the hell shouldn't they? They are a publicly traded business and if they didnt focus on WoW they would be morons.

Yup...it also sucks that you can't actually talk about it because some people have sensitive eyes and temp ban for a week. Knew I kept those spare keys for a reason >.>. At any rate, with all the screwing around that's going on we might as well just wait for D3...it'd be here faster.

Bashiok, are you still taking ideas? Here's 2 that are very easy to implement:

1. Decrease the 50% global physical resistance in Hell Difficulty a bit. Elemental damage is ridiculously more powerful.
2. Prevent power-leveling by making tiny level requirements to proceed to the next Act. Power-leveling by sitting through Baal runs isn't a healthy, intended part of the game, and it rewards the wrong approach. Going to Act2 could require being level 6, Act3 level 11, Act4 level 15, etc. Developers already demonstrated action against power-leveling with the level 20 requirement for The Ancients.

Great idea actually they should increase the level req's to 10 for act2 15 for act3 20 for act4 25 for a5 and 30 for a1 nm
a legit player (I mean without help of higher chars or rushing) wouldn't have problems with this at all.
and it forces u more to play the game like it was intended to be.
baalruns make me sick btw

That's a skill balance problem because it means that 90% of the skills SUCK. Hence why each skill needs to be rebalanced to have a specific purpose it excels at, with something else it is horrible at.

your idea still doesn't work...you haven't put any real thought into it obviously because say they did do that...what stops you from doing normal baal runs till you can do nm baal runs.... you didn't change anything.

In order for this fairly useless idea to make any sense there would have to be a level cap as well as a minimum level...which is just a bad idea all together.

The game was much funner when there weren't synergies. You either must not remember that or weren't around when characters were being played as was intended. There will always be weaker spells, most of which aren't even used today when all of their parent synergies are maxed.
