Ok, first of all i apologize for my bad english, so ppl dont get surprised if u read something weird...

Ok, lets talk about me and Diablo, i first met the game when i was rly young, i started to play D1 and i liked it, i spent lots of time... or i better say, that i "wasted" lot of time playing ( time i couldve used to study or do something better ) , but the game was so much fun and original, and i can say that i still play D1 when im bored sometimes. Then i met D2... oh man... played so much, lots and lots of time, 2, 3, 4 days w/o sleep was common, but i have to say that when i first saw D2 after playing D1 lots of time, i got little dissapointed to see that the gothic style,one of the things that makes the game original, was less, but when i started to play, the lots of features and better graphs ( i have to say that was just the quality in some things... like the items icons were more nice in D1 but had less quality), skills etc. made me love the game... ive been a true fan i can say, after playing D1 and D2 normal and expansions, beating all and having all, i had a thirst of more Diablo and started to play fanmade Mods... ill not say names cuz is not correct to do it in this site but i have to say ive been playing mods till few months ago that i said stop... ill stop playing Diablo and wait until D3... but here is when i get worried... ive been hearing about D3 for 1 1/2 years i think, or more, not sure, and when i first saw that there was a official site of D3, oh man i was so happy, finally another Diablo game... but its not what i expected....

Whats wrong with Diablo3?? ok, i dont know if people agree with me, but Diablo is Diablo, and WoW is WoW, when i see a game that is similar to diablo, graphs, gameplay etc, i say "looks like Diablo" and the same happens with WoW.
But what happens when u mix both games?? well ppl, one gets hurt and nothing happens to the other, in this case, the game w/ more community and more fans has nothing to worry about, but the other get ruined, and the ruined will be Diablo.

I have played WoW, and i also have played Starcraft and they are great games, cool games, and i guess we all know that Diablo is like the "different game" from Blizzard, i love diablo, but when i saw those shiny, purple, fuchsia, sparkling things in the gameplays, light and clean colors instead of dirty and realistic style... i said "omg they F****d the game" ( sorry for the expression ), thats WoW style in Diablo game... omg, whats happening?? thats wrong!!, u cant mix it, thats the fairy tale effects, magic and celtic things that we allow in WoW, but Diablo its like a terror game, but w/o the terror and suspense like s¡lent hill, F,E.A.R. and resident eviI, the demons and evil history, doom and such things with the fun and originality that we met with the first Diablo.
The blood has shiny red color... u kill a zombie and its like explode a blood bag... thats doesnt look cool even with the best graphs in the world... the colors gotta be darken instead of been lighten, we fight beast, demon, creatures, not teIetubbies... go outside ur house, and look at a tree, and come back and look a D3 tree, yeah, it has cool graphs but its not like Diablo should be; i bet that i could have said that is a similar game if i had no idea that it was a D3 video i was watching. Looks cool but its not what the real lovers of the game expected, everyone got excited and amazed i think w/ this game but everyone on Bnet was talking about D3 but there was a medium sized community, like the elders, all that people that played since the beggining, that were happy cuz there was another game coming but not excited, im one of them.

I really want this come to come out and im sure that ill play it, im addicted to it i have to say, no matter what ill play it, even if it comes like WoW-Diablo-Starcraft Hybrid, but ill be really dissapointed, sooner or later ill start liking the new style of Diablo, but thats sad, i dont want to. Blizzard should... no, MUST change this. I dont say that Mike is doing a bad job, but seriously, he is a WoW superfan, and he gotta forget about mixing the games, he gotta play D1 if he hasnt, everyone of the staff should play D1 again, dont play Starcraft and then start working on D3 project... watch some terror movies and check out the effects that makes the area have a feeling of evil, the dirtier its looks more evil we sense, but dont just put some junk and rocks in the road... some fake scratches in the walls... come on, i see the potencial there, nice effects and graphics to make fairy and shiny things, dont just give the same cool graphs to all the games to say that they all are cool, try making something new... something more like DIablo.

I actually read all of what you said and i agree with you. The enviroment does not seem quite like Diablo. People can give all the reasons and excuses and all the quotes of Bash and Blizzcasts they want; but they know it inside that it doesnt feel and look like Diablo.

But at the same time this subject has been beaten and beaten with the dead horse stick. Personally, i just hope they amped up the "fairy" and "shiny" Cr_p for the gameplay video, thats what im hopeing...

I think it looks plenty like diablo. Just diablo that's evolving. You're mistaking lighting effects, particle physics, and an upgrade in graphics for 'WoW'. Diablo has always looked cartoony, it's just always been sprite-ish. Now it's got 3d models and everyone whines.

Honestly people are just looking for anything to whine about. This game screams diablo to me when I look at it and I wasted plenty of time in both games.

Keep QQing, but if it's something you can't get over, then you'll be missed in Sanctuary <3

Screw reading all that. Can I assume you are saying it looks like (art wise) WoW? Well it doesn't. I'm to lazy to go and look for the pictures but people have made shots showing the two right beside each other and they look nothing alike. D3 looks like a painting, which is a cool look to have if you ask me.

As to the second poster(#1). You mention the gameplay video. Are you one of those that somehow never saw the b roll released at blizzcon? I don't see how a dark, foggy, creepy looking forest isn't Diablo.

Then don't buy the game.

I think way too many people are jumping the gun in terms of the look of the game. You saw premade material specifically for the purpose of showing people how it played at Blizzcon.. or WWI (can't remember).
We probably saw like 5% of the entire games textures and I don't think its fair for Blizzard (even though they don't really care about random person speculation) that people are judging their entire game on a 5 minute video showing what classes can do.

Totally agree with OP.. And also sooner or later we will see mounts in D3 lol :D

I'm against this idea of complaining with Diablo before its release, I mean... read the lore... wouldn't make sense, at the beginning of the game (gameplay) every thing looks like all possessed and dark and gore (i'm a gore/groos fanatic) and evil... it's been 20 years seen the World of Santuary is peacefull.
So, i think act 1 can be more bright and fairy... its ok.. the lore is obvious, and there wouldn't be another way to start in a peacefull word... i mean, the meteor just felt.

I agree completely with this.... all the rest of the game MUST be dark, gore, gross, shadowy... as Heel coming to Santuary and no body capable of doing nothing.

i cant wait until the game comes out, and after maybe 30 minutes all the "wow" stuff is gone, and we're launched into scenes that make D1 seem childish in comparison... then we will see who has the last laugh

This^ People jump on others for saying too "cartoony", or too "bright", "colorful" etc. They make good points why it isn't those things, but they don't make any points as to how it is "Diablo"... because it isn't, something is wrong. I can't say for certain what is wrong, but something is.

I'm willing to give the game a chance. The reason why? Because I loved Diablo 2. If I saw this game on a shelf with a different name would I buy it? Most definitely not.

I have to agree with the OP, sadly its doesn't look like Diablo more "World of Diablo".

Blizzard needs to understand the following:

WoW and Diablo are 2 different franchises with completely different communities (thanks god).

Its incredible frustrating to see WoW's influence for D3 e.g.: graphic, skilltrees, auto-stats and respec (WTF) thats NOT Diablo style.


Once blizz anounced the game I was like "yes great" after I saw the style ..."cool now we have World of Diablo".

The people that like this cartoony style are probably WoW players/fanbois.

I have seen a lot of screenshots and maybe I get banned for it but...

There is absolutely no reason to mix this two games damnit!

Despite the potential charging for using the battlenet (WTF), the cartoony style compared with respecing/autostats has potential to kill the game for me nuff said.
