After reading the first impression by someone else, I noticed there were too many comparisons of Torchlight to other games. Max Schaefer told someone that the art style was kind of like Diablo and Scoobydoo meshed together. While I find that a close description, Jason Beck said it best with, "Incredibles meets Dragon's Lair." Immediately I could imagine Torchlight again and it was a perfect description.

Not a very impressive game based on the video. Looks too kiddie-like and the skills looked boring. The main character was super slow moving too... It just had no energy about it.

It also reminded me of a Korean or Chinese MMO. (any one of the billion that are out). The graphics aren't asian, but the pacing of the game seemed very asian. (i.e. slow)

From what they have released so far it doesn't grab me. Maybe when they are closer to the finished product they might show off something that is interesting but as of now it is just a filler that I'll probably soon forget about.

Plus It is only single player and it is just a launching game for there MMO project. (which will have the same artistry/graphics style)

Lets wait and see...

Wow...this even makes the plain and simple d3 screenshots look godly compared to this mascarade of time wastingness.. lol i cant beleive ppl from the diablo world are even associateed with this garbage.

Torchlight isn't competition for D3. It has quite a different theme and both games target different audience. You should have read some interviews first. It looks cartony because that's how it should look. I'm sure they will return to the Diablo-ghotic-epic style in one of their future projects, but such a project won't be called Torchlight.

There is one revolutionary thing about Torchlight, though. After the single player is out they are going to make Torchlight MMO and that will be an action-RPG game. We know hundreds of mmorpgs around where battles are rather static compared to Diablo games. Now imagine a fast-paced dynamic fights settled in MMO world.

So the 4th class leaked? Barbarian's Evil twin with his dog...

anyway it's something in the middle of Fate and Diablo 3, but closer to Fate.

LMFAO this looks honestly like they took Diablo 3, and used the Steam engine and made it look like Team Fortress 2.

I don't even understand how Blizzard isn't going all over this, look at that made, It looks IDENTICAL in game play, camera angle, model moves, dungeons - EVERYTHING.

the only good which comes in my mind is the movment of the charackter while hitting or running this is pretty much diabloish but dunno bout the rest
