You either have 1.2k mana and low block, or 600 mana and 75% block. 75% block requires about 130 dex clean at 99 lvl (with storm), so es will suck pretty bad with no stats put on energy.

There would be more variation with builds. You could make char with lesser damage but higher hp by bumping all to vita or maybe a glass cannon that takes only energy and tryes to avoid being hit or anything between. It's not just one build that has x vita and y energy.

And since everyone would get equally nerfed (assuming this would lead to it) duels would be just the same except more different builds and if PvM would get harder...well I don't see any reason why it shouldn't :D

Best socket it with a -15% req, 15 all res, 9 dex, 9 energy Jewel for maximum effect. :P

That's the thing with PvP people. One slight change could "ruin everything", so the only changes THEY want are the ones that benefit the specific character THEY use in PvP. If it doesn't benefit them, they don't want it.

Personally I would use Jeweler's Aegis of Deflecting with 4 eld because it can have higher def than whistan.

Anyway, it's not as bad as you think to combine ES magic absorb with DR from storm, it's OBLIGATORY. Otherwise you are too vulnerable to either of the two magic/physical dmg, you're dead.

Ofc it absorbs some damage because it works that way. If you have high mana shield you will suffer only a little beating to your life while shield is active. When going block you already have high reduction to all blockable attacks so that leaves you vulnerable to tornado and smite. I don't see putting all those points ti str and dex to meet storm reguirements (reg + block) helps you anymore against the said enemies than putting all into ene. And putting all into ene helps against EVERY char (except psn ofc)

I have energy-shield sorc, uses lightning as main attack skill. I don't even have insight merch, and I can kick mobs ass on hell quite easily as long there are no large groups of immunities (merch can handle small groups). I have ~200 points at energy & vita and enough str to use gear and NONE at dex. Energy IS useful, for sorc.

I can mf run hell andy, countess, summoner, meph, nilathak and baal. Diablo is only problem because of the light immunities.. well I'm gonna get infinity soon.

I already said max block and high mana for es are no achieveable at the same time. I don't think putting 80 str for storm (come on, count torch, anni, coh, 30 str from the shield itself etc.) and nothing to dex is stats losing. But you still get the DR and resists.

I'd say that 80 points in energy is be better but that's just my opinion. As a res shield storm blows and dr could rather be achieved from ber runes even though you wont get is very high.

But all this depends on the build ofc. If you are using spirit then then hell why not put storm against melee.

Also depends if you are trying to make a build that dies about the same time mana runs out or build that runs out of mana before first 200 life is lost. I former case strom is not that bad. In latter it is however completely useless.
