Ok this isn't just happening to me as I see it happening to other people at different times. Here are the examples of what's going on exactly so you're clear.
I join the game and the map won't download until a specific user (we don't know who) leaves the game, I start the download and he comes back just fine.
Same thing applies when I host as well with 2-3 other users sometimes. This doesn't happen ALL the time but quite frequently.
Also when I join, I'll be able to download but other's can't (someone else hosting). Until someone leaves, sometimes it's myself.
I understand the Battle.net protocol is very old, designed pretty much for 56k but this is a bit ridiculous if I must say so.
I'm not using a firewall and I'm not using a router so what gives? 6 MBit DSL has never remotely failed me in any game but this one and this game is ANCIENT...but it's just so damn good ;)
Any ideas?

It could be lagg. the majority of the time lagg is caused by a bad connection between two people, so it makes sense how it varies. someone with a different internet service, even if both are fast services, could just mesh badly.
If everyone in a room is wierd, are they really weird? Pass it on.
