0. Northrend server down?? 03/28/2009 09:26:16 AM PDT
hi I havent play in months and wanted to play warcraft with my friends.
Suddenly when i try to connect to northrend i get this message
unable to connect to battle.net
you may be trying to connect to an invalid b.net server
you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to battle.net
dudes help me out here.
I dont use maphack or anything similiar like that.
Suddenly im banned from northrend server? I dont even spam the channel etc
I connect to all other servers just fine.
This sucks. This happened 3 weeks ago and still is not going away. Its still happening right now. Reinstall the game does not help. Reformat pc dont help either.
I was patient enough to wait for 3 weeks to connect to northrend server but now im getting unpatient. You should stop restricting non hacker players like me who just to want to play against my friends.
I even bought 1 new warcraft game. None of them would let me connect to battle.net northrend server either. I also called my internet and told them to change my IP adress. It did not even work and i am still getting
unable to connect to battle.net
you may be trying to connect to an invalid b.net server
you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to battle.net

You are temporarily restricted. Unfortunately, we cannot tell you the exact reason as to why you have been restricted, or the amount of time you'll be restricted. The only thing we can show it the list of reasons for restrictions and give you a timeframe. Please note that restrictions cannot be removed or shortened, the only solution is to wait it out. You can view the thread below for more information about restrictions:
Now, there are different types of restrictions. First, there's the Realm Down message which only appears on Diablo2. This type of restriction lasts between 2 minutes and 12 hours. Next, there's the Temporary Restriction and the Extended Restriction. Temporary restrictions last anywhere from 2 minutes to 72 hours and Extended Restrictions last between 3 days and 2 weeks. If you would like to find out what type of restriction it is, send an e-mail to support@blizzard.com. Please note, it will take an employee 2-3 business days to respond to you.

This guy said he already waited 3 weeks to get the restrictions removed.
Then he got tired and bought another warcraft game to play northrend server I guess. But he is getting the same error.
Then he said he changed his IP and that probaly cost money.
And he still got the same error. And you Sixen just comes up with the same restriction bla BLA BLA
Read support post carefully Sixen'
Each restrictions last 2 weeks. He waited 3 weeks and can connect to all other servers exept northrend.
He also change ip and bought a new warcraft game and still got the same error on northrend.
Dont you find this weird Sixen? And all other boots user out there dont get restriction while non boot user get it. Makes no sense. There must be a bug with your automatic restriction software, cause I cant see a reason why all good players thaty obey the rules get restricted.

I'm just telling him that he's restricted, =/. He has a Public IPAddress and everytime someone gets restricted, he does too. Restrictions are IP-based, not CDKey based, so a new set of CDKeys won't do anything.

It is said he must wait something like three days so three week is quite enough to find out it is not temporary restrictions...

2 weeks is the maximum. If he gets restricted right after the first restriction ends, then the 2 weeks starts over.

You are most likely restricted as well. But, let's check to be sure. Download the Diagnostic Tool created by Win32, below:
Extract the files and then execute the program inside.
First, type in "resolve *realm.battle.net" without the quotation marks. If you get many ip's, then that works.
The second test is to type this:
"connect *realm.battle.net" without the quotation marks.
Now, post the contents of Log.txt in a reply to this thread so it can be reviewed.
*: Change this with your realm. For example, useast.battle.net.

Please do not bump threads that have not received replies in several months.
There is a restriction on the connection you use to reach Battle.net. That means that this connection was detected violating the terms of use in one of the manners described below.
- Spamming text in the chat channel (often associated with bots)
- Repeated attempts to use an invalid CD-Key
- Repeated use of third-party programs (hacks) these include but are not limited to sending bad packets, flooding the server(s), and the use of hack programs
Restrictions of this nature can last form several days up to two weeks. Technical support does not have access to the reason a specific restriction was put in place or the length of time the restriction is for. We also do not have the ability to remove the restriction. The only thing I can recommend is trying to connect every couple of days to see if the restriction has lifted.
