I for one would really like high resolution widescreen support for Warcraft III. I know that you can fiddle with your regedit to make Warcraft III play in say 1680 x 1050, but it looks terrible since it has to be stretched. A lot of people also play Warcraft III from public computers and won't have the option to fiddle with their Windows settings. What I would like to see added to Warcraft III is:

• Higher resolution option available in-game.
  
• The ability to play in 4:3 on widescreen monitors by ticking a box (by adding 2 black on both sides)

This won't alter the the view in any way, thus giving no unfair advantage. The higher resolution is allready doable from outside the game, so it shouldn't take too much time to code. Adding black bars to each side of the screen on widescreen monitors, might take some work but can't be that time consuming either.

I know that I and many others would really appriciate this option. Warcraft III runs smoothly on most systems, and adding this final touch would make sure it runs optimal on newer computers as well. Blizzard has always taken pride in supporting their old games, and I hope they will take the time to make Warcraft III last another decade making it a failsafe choice for fun whenever you want some classic RTS action.

This is my yearly bump. I would still like to play Warcraft 3 at high resolutions, preferably without fiddling with regedit. And some sort of widescreen support, either by adding some black bars to the sides or something more clever would be pure win.
