I was wondering what you guys, and gals, thought of the equipment the wizard is wearing in the trailer and on the character screen. Do you think it is, or should be, the set for wizards (if they are still using sets)?

One thing I found interesting about the wizard trailer(with intro, not just gameplay) was the glove thing that was on her hand that seemed to focus her power.

This may be a class specific equip or it may have been used in the trailer for looks.

Overall I like how the character looks.

The sort of plate-like gauntlets shown on her are part of the armor set look she was wearing. I think the "focus" you're talking about is actually an orb, which is a wizard-specific off hand item. You've got the idea right though, a lot of the wizard spell animations incorporate the orb into a sort of focusing element while casting. The electrocute and disintegrate videos show it pretty well - http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/wizard.xml

Is the armor that the "wizards" (male and female) are wearing in the spell videos considered their end game gear (you've stated before that the gear for the barbarian and the witch doctor are the "heavy" versions of their armor i.e most elaborate)? I ask because I see how "naked" the barbarian gets when he has his "end-game" gear off. If the wizard took anymore off they would be be butt naked :s

Diablo 1 player since 98', Diablo 2 player since 2001, Diablo 3 player since 200X?

Yeah, I think that's what I meant. The orb that hovers above her palm that is shown when she smiles and turns around in the trailer(I think going to disintegrate footage). Nice to know that the orb is a wizard-specific item. Some people thought there would be no class specific items in D3. I wonder though what "off hand" means in this context; it isn't an equip, but a visual focus of power used for certain skills, or a equip-able item that only effects the spells which use it. (not expecting an answer, these are just thoughts).

Thanks for the info.

I believe "off hand" = shield hand (or in other words, the hand not holding a weapon).

Thanks for the clarification; that makes sense, I guess I wasn't familiar with that terminology. I guess there isn't a need for analysis for that detail ("off hand") anymore.

Thanks!
