No. Use the search.

What I love about Diablo III:
+ Taking the game in a new direction
+ Random adventures as a primary form of exp-gain.
What I hate about Diablo III:
- Possibility of no LAN play!

What they said is all in-game content will be free on battle.net to play. Some other features (non in-game features) will cost money.

I'm not exactly sure what type of features they'd charge for but something like to join a guild maybe or creating multiple accounts on one CD-key purchase.

Since nothing is complete, blizzard won't have any cost system in place till the very end, but they don't intend a monthly fee like WoW or Warhammer which I assume is what you're asking.

Everything I've read says "probably" not, if you want to get technical about it. They THINK they can pay for it with advertizing like Battlenet 1, but they've gone out of their way NOT to promise a free Battlenet 2

such features could include transferring characters from one account to another, perhaps make some purchases like a different looking GUI. y'know, unnecessary stuff :D

new forums ftw

They have actually promised a free Battle.Net. There is no way that any player will have to pay anything but the sticker price of Diablo III in order to get the full multiplayer experience on Battle.Net.

I'm pretty sure you won't, Battle.net can run off advertising well enough and WoW's funds can pay for it as well. The only thing you'll have to pay for is, of course, a copy of the game, and perhaps services like WoW has, such as realm-transfers or name changes for example.

The game will most likely be free to play online, but that could change since nothing has really been announced yet.

From what I've heard they are gonna charge for things like changing your character's name.

But no, no monthly fee or such.

I've not seen that... in fact during blizzcon I'm pretty sure Jay Wilson said he couldn't promise a free battlenet, but he expected one.... source?

jokes aside, you'll have to pay for the game and your internet connection...sicne this IS NOT an MMORPG, a monthly fee is not that important

Why do you idiots keep making these threads? Google and the forum search function are both your friends. It's been answered any number of times, and the answer is still "no". Unless Blizzard recants (which they would be well within their rights to do), I would assume it's going to stay that way, and you would hear some serious @%%**ing on here if they did change their minds, so it's not something that will slip under the radar.

Mike mentioned it in an Activision Blizzard investor meeting [paraphrased] "A player that buys Starcraft 2 at retail will have the ability to play on Battle.net with no additional fee."

I'll point out that this is a very carefully worded statement.

So you mean you have to subscribe to the online fee in order to find the high level weapons and use all of battle.nets features right?
