I've started playing this (yeah, I know, many years late) but I'm not sure what the best strategy is. Do I make archons, turrets, scouts, a couple strong bunkers, zerg colonies, or a combination? Also, I heard someone say they could fill their bunkers with heroes...how is that done? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

sorry for a late response, but honestly my opinion is that for terran, i would use the following defense:


| S
| TR
---B G S
B R
---B G S
| TR
| S
S-Siege tank(sieging)
R-SCV (repairs and replacements)
B-Bunker(3 Marines, 1 Firebat, one in middle is 4 Marines)
T-Turret
G-Goliath
If you tech and/or defend early, use marine and vehicle attack upgrades, as well as U-238 shells and Charon Boosters. Also have atleast 9-15 spider mines at choke point(restocked OFTEN) and a few turrets set up also.

Oh, and always remember, don't let the enemy come to you! strike first, and save whatever's left of them to hit your base! light defenses are only good used correctly.

If you're 'restocking' your mines, how are you doing it while walled in? Investing in dropships? You waste supply on building more vultures just to watch your mines get walked on by archons (which don't trigger the mines) or blown to hell by my tank push.

Word of advice: turtle strategy is bad strategy. Way too easy to beat unless you're newb or too stupid.

And no, don't go saying "well if you try to drop, I have turrets surrounding my base!"

*cough*Dweb*cough* then I drop reavers/ht/goons and rip you a new anus.

uhhh...
little note. Goliaths, SCVs, and Tanks can move. and besides, any good player has a good army built up anyways. if they are strong enough to bust defenses, then you sure as #@!! weakened their army.

Want to fight? i'm an intermediate player looking for good exp, just make a 1v1 TERROR map speed: fastest map: fastest sleet and watch me fly there!

So? Shuttles are faster still. You waste your time putting up some 'awesome defense' when you should be investing in a faster offense instead of teching to top-tier units and expecting for a fast win.

Tank push... drops of reavers? wow...
y'know... brute strength isn't all needed to win a game. If a drop can't make it through the defenses, how can it "rip me a new anus"? drops are good, but if the unit can't live outside the dropship if the player is foolish or risky enough to drop a unit into #@!!, then it was a waste of money and time.
