Sixen, as you requested i made my own thread.

I basically copied and pasted what i have written earlier in crossover's thread, sorry about the inconvenience. Also, I am not sure where to find the "log" that crossover also included in his post but do we really need the log's info to fix this problem? Anyways heres what i wrote from my other post.

Q u o t e:
Okay, basically I got the same battle.net error message as Crossxover did but I am using Starcraft Broodwar. Sixen I did use that link and it tells about opening 6112 TCP and UDP in and out and stuff but the problem is, I have Windows Vista and I do not know how to access my ports on Vista. And also, I downloaded from blizzard a "Battle.Net Server Fix" to redo my servers or what not because it says 3rd party programs can change it. I've used Chaos Launcher so that might be it. I clicked on the program for the battl.net server fix and it didn't help.

It'd Be real great if you can tell me where to find my ports n how to open them and how to work the battle.net service fix thing. thanks.

-Cringe

Edit: I uninstalled Starcraft and Broodwar and reinstalled it and now I got a new message when going onto battle.net. "Unable to connect to Battle.net. If you are using a modem to connect to your service provider and are not configured for Dialup Networking, you may have to initiate the connection manually." Not too sure what that really means. It seems that when I try to solve the problem everytime, it just gets worse T_T. Please Help!

Edit 2: My firewall is off right now but it doesn't help. Nor does it help when it is active.

Thanks Sixen

You may want to use Win32's diagnostics program which can be found here:
http://www.lordaeron.org/BnetDiagTool.zip
In the program, type "connect uswest.battle.net" (w/o quotes) then hit enter.

Please post the contents of Log.txt

You'll need to configure your router and/or any firewalls you may have. You can learn how to do so here:
Please note that disabling your firewall will not cut it.

I configured ports for Starcraft 6112 TCP & UDP in and out on my router and my windows vista firewall and I still get the same error messages. Is there anything else I can do?

I suggest bypassing the router by plugging the modem in directly to your computer. That will tell us if the source of the problem is your router or not.

it will be impossible to plug the modem directly into this computer because my internet service provider is AT&T and they gave us a modem that is also a router so basically it is a modem/router.

3800HGV-B Gateway

To access it manually I have to type in http://192.168.1.254 into my internet browser. Not very sure if this statement serves any help.
