ohhh thank you for your gracious insight.... moron.

it's kind of funny how virtual pcs are the equivalent of having two computers, not to mention many users have no idea how to go about setting one up. oh, and you didn't invent them, thus it isn't your idea.

My question is, is this ACTUALLY not in violation of the battle.net TOU? Because in the TOU, there's a statement:

You may not

(xvii) create or maintain, under any circumstance, more than one simultaneous connection to Battle.net. All such connections to Battle.net, whether created by Blizzard software products or by other tools and utilities, may only be made through methods and means expressly approved by Blizzard Entertainment. Under no circumstances may you connect or create tools that allow you to connect to Battle.net's private binary interface or interfaces other than those explicitly provided by Blizzard Entertainment for public use;

This technically is maintaining more than one simultaneous connection to Battle.net. Also, there is the alternative user on windows method to install and run 2 copies of diablo 2, which is similar to using virtual PC. Is this also a "safe" way? It would be great if there's some official word on this posted somewhere.

Q u o t e:
Running two copies of Diablo 2 by using Windows' User Switching works just fine. It requires two installs of Diablo 2, that are both unmodified. I guess Blizzard could get nitpicky and say it is maintaining multiple connections, but they have no way of showing that you aren't just two people playing on a LAN connection so they can't ban you for it.

Is there really no way to tell? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you run netstat -n in the command line prompt you can see that there's multiple game.exe connected through port 4000. Maybe they can ID the computer/network adapter connecting through the port on their end and decide that you're dual boxing... and use their massive hammer on you :-P

Okay, Bob_The_Evil.

More often than not you seem to have a respectable amount of knowledge of the subjects in which you chose to post.

My question, is,
If there's two computers in a home, and both of those computers have their own version of Diablo 2/LoD installed on them, and two people wish to play with each other using those two computers, what would the ramifications be, if any?

Q u o t e:

None. Feel free to do so.

Due to random jargon on these forums, i was second-guessing myself, I just wanted to make sure.
You cleared up a tiny concern, for that, i thank you.

That method doesn`t work unless you use 3rd party which no one wants to run loader anymore obviously.... your method says only one copy may be run at one time.

This is from the EULA and your method and ANY OTHER method
is a violation. Two computers and two sets of cd keys is fine.
One computer is still one connection to battle.net at the same time.

In a conversaton with a blizz rep at blizz con 07 I asked this very question.
I was told that 1 cd key per computer , per connection is the rule. There is no rule about 10
computers in a house with 10 cd keys.. As long as they can generate there own
I.P address it is not the same connection.
