Q u o t e:
QQ. I miss Shock. I sent her (I believe it was a her) an e-mail when the forums first open and got no response.

Heh I'm a "he". I took a few years' break to get involved in Warcraft3... this forum sure looks different from when I last posted here :-). I finally quit my WC3 addiction and am ready to return to posting about Starcraft, thanks for remembering me! Unfortunately, my shockwwave[xpow] account seems to have expired out of inactivity, but hopefully I'll be able to get it reactivated soon. Until then, I'll be using this account name.

Ah, my real name (which I will not reveal here) is kinda ambiguous in terms of gender, so that's probably where your confusion came from. It used to be used for both male and female, but then largely dropped off as a male name during this generation, so now most people identify it as female. K that was probably more info than you needed :-b.

Ah yes! I remember now, it was when I had first received an e-mail from you back in the day when you first became an MVP. That was it, =).

nice guide, tho i must say that static defense is REALLY needed sometimes.
for example PvT - if protoss makes really fast dark templar tech and/or proxy gate - then terran can't tech for science vessels: terran has to make engineering bay(which he wouldn't need too early unless enemy uses DT-s) and turrets..
ofcourse vultures with mines help too, but you can't attack with "mine push" or something ;)
anyway i liked the guide - it should help out many newcomers.

Noting on the cloning thing, for peons, simply selecting all and moving them to 1 mineral will make them scatter on the second time they go to collect. they will automatically find a different mineral patch no-one is using that is in your sight range, as long as it isnt occupied, and if all are occupied at once, it will go to the nearest. saves some time in the beginning, as speed is a staple in rts.

I don't think he means to build drones with every larva, just build at a rate so that you would have the same (or more) drones than a terran or protoss. Zerg can generally take many bases and take advantage of multiple hatcheries to expand.
And as someone mentioned, sometimes static defenses are necessary. A single bunker or turret won't kill you economically.
