I made a remark saying something like "hey man, your maphack is dumping code in the chat every time you rejoin." not knowing he was using maphack, but it was a fair guess at the time. He responds with "I dont know what you mean. ^^" So that was when I knew about him using maphack, and it explained how he magicly knew the way all the time. So after running with him some more i felt he was quite fast with picking up loot all the time, instantly teleporting to uniques dropping and such. So without knowing he was using a program like pickit I asked him if he could turn off pickit and give me a chance on some loot as well. He responds with "ya ok, just a sec I'll turn it off". So thats two hacks already. We clearing the way to Diablo and several times when he's getting himself into trouble he suddenly logs off and joins the game again after a couple of seconds. So I'm thinking... "looks like this guy is using chicken as well" and I'm saying: "looks like you're using the whole package. you using chicken as well?" and to my surprise he answers with: "man, you only know half of it" So am I the only one not using cheats these days? hardcore is a huge joke if everyone and his sister is using this stuff. I guess by joining Baal runs and pretty much knowing that the sorceress doing the teleporting to the throne room is using these programs as well, makes me take a small part in the cheating as well. But if I have the choice I always go for the baalwalk games. But realy... what's the point in playing hardcore if you have absolutely nothing to fear?! And I say play... but for most people I see in the games and in chat it's looking at the screen and getting rushed to act 5 and joining Baal runs from there on. Until it all is redone in Nightmare and in Hell. So people end up with level 90 hardcore characters that they pretty much havent played with yet and had absolutely no risk of dying. Nobody wants the collect the act 2 staff anymore, nobody ever sets foot in the flayer dungeon anymore, nobody kill the ancients themselves anymore. its all rush rush rush and then.... well I seriously dont know... I guess they go magic find or make a new char and do it all over again. Wish it could be different. Stop fooling yourself. Get rid of all the cheats. Play the game as it is. But as long as these programs can go on undetected.... I guess people will continue to use them. its a shame.[/quote]
