Ya back in the days a few years ago, where hacking, botting, and legit players that just want to play will join your game was pretty nice :)
To add to my other post, what if someone has an account name 1 on USWest and someone else has account name 1 on USWest, so what if Blizzard merged the servers together, who is going to get the account? It won't be merging if someone has to change their account name. Consider where the gateway be located as well since I live in the west coast and my upload speeds is pretty slow on useast when I try to host.
