If you don't equate competitive with fun, then it's very difficult for you to have fun on battle.net. Lots of people want to win and at any cost, not to mention so many koreans on battlenet ^^. I guess to have fun, play with actual friends, stick to the UMS maps and other non-standard games.
if you want to get better, I would suggest to practice using hotkeys and build orders. For example, for protoss, if you select a probe, pressing B will bring up the building list, and pressing P will allow the building of a pylon, which you then just click on where you want to build. For zerg, select the hatchery, press S for the unit selection list, then press D for drones. Things like that, memorize the keys. Using the keyboard instead of the mouse to build stuff is a good start.
Then again, if you want games to last a little bit longer, you could try island maps. Or you know what, you should get a practice buddy that doesn't care about recs.
