The only thing you can do that is a 100% fix solution is get ChaosLauncher and use WindowMode. Windows 7's user interface is constantly brought to top (same for Vista) therefore if you kill Explorer.exe before you start the game, then the color will be fixed, but with Win7 the game tends to freeze up - therefore you should just switch to using Windows Mode.
