  • 0. How to start playing Starcraft   12/27/2009 05:28:51 PM PST
Hi everyone! I have been following Starcraft 2 for a long time now, and decided that it was time to give the original Starcraft a whirl. I played through both campaigns (original Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War) and it was enjoyable enough, nothing special though. I heard, from a friend, that the REAL fun in Starcraft is from the online experience.

I created my Bnet account, logged in, created a 1v1 game on Lost Temple, and lost. I did this forty something times in a row....never winning once. Please note that it was not on this account—I wouldn't dare show that profile!! ;P

My question is this—how did YOU learn how to play Starcraft over Bnet? (I have an iMac and cannot use iCcup) I check everybody's record before we start, and I lose to even the "less than mediocre" players. Why? I did fine in the campaign... lol. My favorite race is Terran, but I seem to do better with the Protoss. My friend told me that the Protoss is the easiest race for beginners as it has more of a margin of error, thus I am willing to play them for a while if it helps me learn.

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies...this looks like a really fun game, but I'm quick losing interest being owned by players of all sort... :(
